Driving the highways this time of year helps me remember some of the reasons we left California: stopped cars on highway entrance and exit ramps, fender benders at stop lights, and speeders causing wrecks due to impatience and poor judgement. I witnessed all four of these today; one on Hwy. 51, another on Hwy. 44, a third accident on Yale, and a deer hit by a speeding truck (35 mph zone... must have been going 55, at least) on Hwy. 72. A driving day like this is all I need to argue that my truck belongs in the garage for the rest of the Christmas season

So if we are showing photos...here are a few from my flock today. I let them out to free range before the rains tonight while I oxined the henhouse.

I got rid of all the ones I took down there...but still have my breeders and close to 200 eggs in the bator...76 to hatch this weekend and another 115 to hatch 5 days later, and another 100 going back in the bator as soon as the first batch hatches...

Full grown in 8 weeks..I normally sell'em at seven weeks...so the first part of January will have some ready.
