She gets to meet Stanley.

I'm so glad she gets to come home!
We are leaving tomorrow for Missippi to visit with my DH's Dad. Not such a fun trip; DFL has never been much of a part of DH's life, he now has dementia and we are staying with relatives we don't really know. It is one of theose "need-to" trips.

Poco, I wish my grandma had been like you when I was a kid. What a great experiement.
Rebecca, hug your girl for all of us. I'm so glad you get her home for awhile.
My son is here from NC, it's the only time I see him all year. I officially got the "Mom Has Officially Tipped Over The Edge" look when he saw the birds. I was showing him my little Serama and talking about what good company he is and how he listens to me talk. My son says, "Mom. I don't think he's thinking what you think he is. I think he just has to poop." lol
MJ, drive safe!

A few days around the birds may change his thinking....

Everyone enjoy the holidays and all it brings..

I wish all a Merry Christmas and happy new year, lets all hope that 2012 is better than 2011.

Robin, Betsy, and Joe (and anyone else who knows silkies well) - Take a look at the photos of my five silkies and let me know what gender you think they are. I think I have three males and two females.

I think this one is male. He's the smallest bird in the group, but his comb is large and bumpy.

I think is is also a male. He's the largest in the group, and his comb is large and bumpy.

This is the last one I think is male. He's the second largest in the group, and his comb is large and bumpy.

I think this splash is female. Her head poof is like a globe and she hardly has any comb.

I think this black silkie is a female. Her head poof is not as round as the splash, but I can not see much comb, and what's there is smooth.

That big chest is not fat....that's just good breeding. The bigger the better. He's maturing and seramas are suppose to have a 'high uplifted chest'.

Those are some BEAUTIFUL chicks Poco Pollo!

Hi all! Have not been on here in forever. Been reading the thread and trying to catch up. Kind of hard to do on such an active thread, LOL.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and safe and Happy New Year!!

I have finally set some eggs that I am hoping will be beautiful Olive Eggers. This is only the 2nd time I have hatched eggs in the incubator (1st hatch were barnyard mutts and are gorgeous), so I still get very excited and anxious for them to hatch!
I was wondering if anyone has any Marans rooster/cockerel they are needing to get rid of? I currently have only 1 Welsummer rooster in my pen with 11 Aracuana hens. I would like to increase my fertility rate in this pen.

Thanks for any help on this!

Have a beautifully Blessed day!
Lori
