Just a few pictures this morning while waiting for Ksane.

Thanks Robin - None of my silkies have wattles starting, yet. I have been getting the house ready for Mom's visit, so I won't be able to try the rooster test today. Maybe tomorrow, after Mom's rested, she can help me by holding a silkie or two. I think they are all about four months old, so I was expecting the boys to try crowing. Do silkies crow at 4 months, or is that just wishful thinking on my part? I've had barred rocks crow (I use this word loosely, because the noise was more like mouse gargling) at three months, the little stinkers.

This boy is just beautiful and so big. Like a baby dinosaur. What I didn't expect is how easy to handle he'd be, real docile once you're holding him. His neck is like a giraffe's and I love petting that long neck. I know these birds weren't bred to be babied and loved on but dang.....it's kind of hard to resist when he lets me do it lol
Matt also gave me the sweetest little Chocolate colored OEGB-I've never seen this color before and I love it. She's just adorable and she's going to fit in perfect with my other 4.
I am SO not done with these Brazilians, very impressive. I'll get pictures a little later when I get a chance

Thank you so much, Matt. I've truly met more nice people over chickens than any other animal I've been involved in.

Poco, I agree with your guesses on the Silkie genders. Mine are 5 1/2 mo now and only 1 is crowing so it may take yours awhile yet. The way I could tell the best with mine was their attitudes. It was only the boys that did the chest bumping (I didn't know they were boys at the time). The girls all tried to avoid confrontation.
