***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Okla - I have PayPal account and as far as I can tell it is safe, convenient and easy to use and maintain. Never have had any problems with it. There are several options to choose from when setting up an account but the one I use is just for money to go into and out of. My son has that type of account also, but he has their credit card, too. He likes that part. It's more like a debit card, really, because he can only use it if there is money in the account that the card is attached to. I've sent money to him that way. I just transfer money from my personal bank account to his PayPal account. Very easy to use and the money gets there immediately.

Edited to add that I have purchased items from eBay and other online retailers using PayPal. IMO, it's the way to go. Transactions are immediate and no hassle.

I second all that, very easy, have had it for years w/o any issue or problem. Transaction is immediate, easy peasy.

WElcome Jon! Tell us about your chicken hobby! We are all just plain folks who love our chickens and love talking about them. We also like other critters too!

I have some questions maybe someone can help me with. Anyone have a paypal account? Is it safe? Is it easy to set up? Is there a lot of work to maintain it? How do you put money in or take your money out? Since I started selling my hatching eggs everyone wants to use paypal for quicker service. Is it really quicker? Thanks for any info.

Glad you found us here on the Okie thread! Where in Oklahoma do you live? How many and what kind of chickens do you have?

Moved from N. Illinois down to Bixby back in September. I got a few Barred Rocks back in October. Originally had my heart set on Silver Laced Wyandottes, but the hatchery I had planned to order from didn't have enough hatch out... I wasn't about to let that stop me from getting chickens, and since the hatchery was sold out for the rest of the season I just went to Atwoods! I've only got three right now, and have two more spots set aside for my eventual SLW or BLRW. Haha. :)

Aside from my new found chicken hobby, I travel a lot for work. I am a horse show photographer, and am on the road about every other week Feb-Nov. I am finding it rather fun to take the camera out into the yard and snap some pictures of the chickens too, of course!

Look forward to being a part of the OKIE thread!

Well I should hang out a shingle. Guy's shade tree computer repair. After a full 24 hours of fighting and cussing this thing I downloaded Norton spy ware and virus protection. Lucky I still had internet. Only thing I had was internet. Tried to go back and reset it to awhile back and it just kept saying files were empty. So after I downloaded Norton first thing it told me to do was uninstall McAfee. Which didn't bother me a bit as it let some nerd from Haiti's infect my beloved machine. Then I installed and ran Norton. Over 200 issues that needed fixed. I then was able to reset computer to a week ago. Down side was a week ago I didn't have Norton, so beings it was paid for, I downloaded it again. Uninstall McAfee again

and been tweeking on the thing for a couple hours. I have retrieved almost everything, but for the life of me I can not find my few hundred or more pictures. I have found them, but when I try to open them it tells me file is empty. If I cant figure it out in a few days I may have to have a professional help me (hope he don't make me take down my shingle). I know I have been telling everyone my wife is away from home, so I hope everyone didn't jump to the conclusion that I caught this surfing unsavory sites

or did I.

I used to have McAffee too, and I quit and went to norton. I have never had a problem with them.

If you can, go back to the area where you think the phone was lost. Then call, or have someone call the number. Listen closely to see if you can hear it ring. Follow the sound and hopefully, you'll find it.

Good idea Tony but the only problem is the phone is on silent! They pretty much keep them on silent because of having them in school.

Dont give up hope, our 19 year old lost her phone out playing with the dog the week of Christmas. I figured it was a lost cause, we turned our property upside down looking for it (she had just gotten it Oct. 31st, grrrr). Well I finally had it turned out last week since we didn't find it, I figured if we did find it there was no way it would work. Well guess what her 14 year old brother found this week....yep her phone in a bunch of leaves and it works!!! Of course now I have to call ATT and have it reactivated, ugh. Hopefully living without the phone for the last few months have taught her to keep better track of it but I doubt it, lol.

Does she keep the GPS on it turned on? If so you might be able to log into your account and find it that way. Jenn had her GPS turned off so we couldn't do that.

Sooner-- good luck on the phone search. My suggestion is replace it a a cheap phone on eBay. Depending on your provider they may have a parental phone tracking program. I know sprint does-- any type of phone, not just smart phones.

My chickens appear to have slowed down on egg laying today & yesterday & my guineas have lost their minds. A have a whole flock on the roof of the barn running back & forth screaming. I checked twice & the dogs checked-- they must be screaming at their shadows. Can't find any predators.

I am trying to get the bottle babies down to 2 feedings a day, they are screaming at the door that they haven't had lunch-- so water is warming on the stove. Figure it is cold & warm milk will make them happy.

Forgot to say welcome Jon! And don't worry now that you found this group any type of chicken you want you will be able to find! Helpful group of folks whose goal is to make sure you even able to have to birds you didn't know you were in need of.
