***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Bill, did you get yours?
They are at the post office now I'm going here in a bit to retrieve them, I have setups ready for them

Joined up BYC back in October, but just now realized there was an Oklahoma page (I'm relatively new to OK). So, I just thought I would pop in and say "Hello" to everyone!

And to the Okie Thread, glad you found us, some of us were lost a bit

I have some questions maybe someone can help me with. Anyone have a paypal account? Is it safe? Is it easy to set up? Is there a lot of work to maintain it? How do you put money in or take your money out? Since I started selling my hatching eggs everyone wants to use paypal for quicker service. Is it really quicker? Thanks for any info.
I've used Paypal for years and never had one issue with them I only wish more sites would take it LOL

I found me and then had to stand in the corner for a while, wash my mouth out with soap and went to bed early without supper...

Welcome Joh to BYC, the standard greeting/warning will be posted.

WElcome Jon! Tell us about your chicken hobby! We are all just plain folks who love our chickens and love talking about them. We also like other critters too!

I have had a paypal account for 6 or 7 years now before it was part of ebay. Never have had a problem with it. Matter of fact when I was in the jewelry business, some guy sent me a bunch of fake junk and I just set paypal on him. Got my money back and he was not only banned from paypal but ebay as well. It is a quick, secure way to pay for or receive funds on-line.

My big Cochins & my Silkie bachelors were scared of them

and ran screaming when the bug moved. The Cochins hid in the corner of their pen until I took The Monster Bug away, hilarious. The hens in the laying yard and the Faverolles had no qualms about them though-they loved them! I only need a 1 to 10 ratio of males to females so I still have lots of males. Can't wait to get my Dubia.

i think you made the right choice, in a year or so they will be much cheaper when everyone has them. they are very nice looking birds from what i have seen on the net.

thats the marans were when they started getting big, everyone was running around paying ridiculous prices for birds and eggs. now they dont cost anymore than regular chickens. i have started seeing it in the coronation sussex birds already, finding them for 5-10 bucks a head for 3-6 month old birds. people were paying ridiculous prices for them less than a year ago.

been doing some looking on them just for grins, i dont think they meet the american standard, so actualy not showable yet.

And there is the problem with the imported birds being such a buzz and generating $$ short term, the real issue is the undisclosed crossing on other birds once they are here and misrepresentation for the sake of a buck. Then someone gets them and continues the trend of selling them as eggs or chicks and further dilutes what they really were. Ahh the power of teh all mighty dollar. It's kind of like a "show quality egg" there are shows where eggs are shown and that is a show quality egg, show quality birds laying show quality eggs that produce show quality chicks, we all strive for teh show birds but they are less than 10% of the total hatch regardless the quality of teh stock.
