***OKIES in the BYC III ***

morning All, first cup of coffee down at least one more full pot to go after this so I can function better.

Most potatoes should be fine-- I am putting mine in partial shade this yr in hopes of not growing pre- baked potatoes.

Coral I say fabric is fabric. I know cheaper store bought quilts are not quality fabric, but I would try it for the backing.

Birds all have fresh water & I promised them today would be warmer & they could play in the yard this afternoon. I just finished sanitizing seed trays -- just waiting on them to dry so I can play in the dirt. Later today going to paint the wall in our room DH had to take apart (to install the generator transfer switch). Then get the furniture back in place.

Thanks. I called last month about the Newcastle show, was going to enter some birds. After all it is an all game bantam show correct. I was told that Asil Bantams wasnt allowed. Heck they are the origanal game breed??? Oh well.

Does anyone mind telling me what shows are going on this winter/spring? I would like to go to them....I can't seem to find it.

Correct, Andy Barnes hosts the show he is the president of teh Great Plains Game bantam club. The show is restricted to game bantams but that is further limited to Cornish, Modern, American and OE. I have never seen an american game there just cornish modern and oe. We will be taking a few Opal and columbian oe.

Wont be to long and it will be muddy sloppy out. We got about 5 inch of snow and it was wet, so we at least got some good moisture. The girls enjoyed it after I did a little snow removeal for them. They followed me the whole time like they expected me to uncover some sort of buried treasure.

Interesting, I'd seen that the ones we eat from the grocery store had been sprayed with a growth inhibitor and never to use them?

They work well for me, let them start to grow some eyes, cut them in half and place them cut side down about 6 inches under teh ground. In about 3-4 weeks a plant will begin to emerge. To maximize production you can use tires, or I cut 5 Gallon bucket bottoms out and place over the plant. Then as teh plant grows I add soft soil to the bucket
