***OKIES in the BYC III ***

From what I've experienced so far over the past few months with trying to get the house ready, let alone find a trustworthy realtor, it's something I wouldn't want to go through very often. The last time I bought / sold a house was in 1988 when I bought this house, and things have changed somewhat since then. It's wearing me down just getting this far with it, and I still have a ways to go. I just hope that I get a buyer quickly so this will all end. I'm about at my rope's end with it all. On the upside, though, I'm looking forward to having a place out of the city - away from blaring emergency sirens, car alarms, airplanes flying low enough to see the pilot and looking out the window only to see another house 20 feet from mine. It will be nice to get away from all of that.

Where are you looking at moving to? How much land?

upcdayz - Totally agree. We just moved a little over a month ago and I never want to move again!! Totally worth all the awful stuff to be where we are now tho.

And then a picture of one of the 125 g tanks with the 2 albino Oscars in it (1 of them died a year ago). I love my fish I have an 8' long 250 gal tank with 2 Oscars and a bunch of Clown Loaches in it, too.

No kidding! How the heck am I supposed to show my house with a 4 year old, three dogs, and three cats? We finally got the roof done. Now we have a new roof, new windows, and new heating and cooling system. We still have two bathrooms to finish and new flooring. Oh and we want to get siding on the eaves and overhangs.

My partner at work is from CA, I forget the town but one of the really big ones, anyway he never saw stars until moving here last year, and only ever saw 4 bird types, swallows, pigeons, and I forget the two others, but he was excited to see robins, like they were some sort of zoo bird. All the common birds, animals and plants (I mean really common) he gets excited at seeing, it is amusing to watch. Really makes you think about what we take for granted.

It's a pain in the ***! We got my parents and DH's parents to watch our three dogs. Then we removed the 3 cats and hid the litterboxes everytime we showed the house. We also hid the guinea pigs in the shower so they were less obvious We took the hamsters out of the house everytime we showed it too. It's hard to keep a house show ready with kids, mine are 5,4, and 2. Every time we got a call for a showing I had to pawn my kids off on someone so I could make it half way presentable. Worth it in the end tho!

Oakieridge - I am moving to the lake house at Lake Eufaula. It sits on two lots. There are a lot of trees on part of it and is near the water. It's not a huge amount of property but enough for me, my cats and chickens. Eventually I'd like to get more land somewhere else, but this fine for now.

Oceanseve - Congratulations on your new (or new to you) house and glad you survived the selling/moving process. It's gruelling.

RetiredArmyWife - It's tough getting a house ready to sell, especially when you have a little one to keep up with and other responsibilities. I don't have children at home anymore but just getting and keeping everything done is tough. You're right, it's hard to show a house with all of that going on. Lookers want to see a house in pristine condition, it seems.

One of the things I like most about the house at Lake Eufaula is being able to see lots of stars. There are lots more to see there than in the city and they're beautiful. It's nice to sit out on the porch at night and see them all. I wish you luck meeting your goals so you'll be able to enjoy them too.
