***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I really like the idea of using the natural herbs for the insecticide tea! I have heard good things about wormwood but thought I had to get it at the health food store.

Never even thought of growing it myself!! We all have sensitive skin here and I get my laundry detergent from a friend who makes it herself. I do not know what is in it, all I know is our clothes are cleaner, smell better, and are softer. She sells it for only $3 a gallon and that dilutes to 2 gallons. It lasts forever, no one has had any break outs since starting it and our allergy pill usage is down! I wonder how the soapwort would work for household cleaning? Hmm that could really help here!! My oldest son is allergic to bleach fumes. It gives him a massive migraine. If there have been colds or viruses in the area and I really need to go over the house with bleach water he has to go outside till everything is dry. And that is a VERY weak bleach water dilution.

I've grown Wormwood, Rue and Gopher Purge, (in CA, don't know how well any of them do here) All were pretty plants and strong smelling, especially the Rue. I should get some more Gopher Purge for my South perrenial border. A big Goph is tearing it up.

Oh and I left because I just felt odd again there lol. Plus I didn't have any cages with me. I did see the trio of silkies. They kept shaking their heads like if they were twitching. Is that normal? I seen a gorgeous blue and black game cock. Oh man I wanted him sooooo bad. And then in Lot 14 there was this tiny little chicken. Red and white. I thought maybe it was a roo but I have no clue what breed that even was. And I just kept going back to look at it. But I don't know if I could put it in with my pullets and possibly one roo. Its the same size as them. So to be on the safe side I just left. Again nothing to put them in is all I told myself. I thought about that little guy the whole evening. I feel like it should of been mine.

If any of you know which bird I'm talking about.....Lot 14 one the end by itself red and white, do you know what kind it was???

The LF cochins brought $18-about $30 I think last night. The most expensive chicken was a blue game that brought $50 next runner up was a blue Amerucana that brought $42 I think. I was surprised that even close to 1 am there was still a bidding war over a few birds. Michael went home with a massive haul of birds last night, he must have bought half the stuff seemed like.
Plan on going to Walters auction, unless something keeps me home. Can't decide on it I will take the girls, they want to go but have school on Tuesday & it is the start of testing wk.

Did you stay for the whole auction?

The wormwood pkt says it's good for zone 3-9. I know gopher purge (caster bean) grows well here my Gma had a yard full of it, tall and beautiful. I don't know about rue.

BBAcres, don't run off & leave an auction again!!!!! It isn't right to go & then run off without socializing & buy something you you didn't even know you were shopping for! That is what the auction is all about. Promise! I NEVER expected to buy those rose comb RIR last night. But when I called DH, he just said where do you want to put them & what do I need to do to get it ready. Think he is use to the "surprise" purchases.

Not sure what to do with your chick, maybe pipe cleaners to straighten them & a band-aid to keep them in postion? I have never had one whose legs needed more than a band-aid, sorry couldn't help more.
