Turkey eggs are on lockdown and just checked my goat Lucky and her ligaments are gone. So hopefully we will be having babies tomorrow! She was chowing down just now so I don't expect anything tonight lol She is so big I'm guess twins. Can't wait!

Rained almost all day here. When it stopped for a moment I ran out & planted some more cucumbers & squashes. Figure they should germinate well with the nice moist ground.

Got boxes ready to box up the keets for Blanchard. DD taped them & cut holes in the boxes. She was very proud. Thought about bringing a few grown birds but didn't want to mess with cages in the rain. Hope to see some of y'all there tomorrow.

Hey, guys, I have a question. I'm picking up keets tomorrow and wanted to know if it's okay if I put them in with 4 chicks that are 3 days old? I was going to feed a mix of unmedicated chick starter and game bird starter. Would that work? Or should I put the 3 day old chicks in with 2 week old chicks and give the keets their own space?

I will put them with chicks but usually only for a wk or so. The main reason I separate them within a wk is just because of my observations. I start seeing the keets move lighting fast and the chicks are getting trampled. Yes the large fowl chicks are much larger than the keets, but somehow the keets still knock the chicks off their feet. You will see when it is time to separate them I promise! I guess I only had a nap & am up. DD came in & woke me all excited since stuff was hatching in the incubator in her room. The new hatch was so loud it had woke her. She was so proud, since she is such a good hatcher. Some how now matter how many eggs we hatch it is still like Christmas to her each time. DD is now back fast asleep while I am up for the day, so not fair.

She was so proud, since she is such a good hatcher. Some how now matter how many eggs we hatch it is still like Christmas to her each time. DD is now back fast asleep while I am up for the day, so not fair.

Isn't it wonderful that DD is still excited about hatching? It is fun to see how youth view the world.

Little Miss. She cussed me out real good when I took her out of the crate to put her in the brooder that the Dominiques were in. I switched eggs on her at the same time and she looked them over real good before deciding that "eggs are eggs".

And that's what's in my sunroom today! Now I just need to find room for a couple dozen baby keets!

Hatch day for the 4 Gold/Silver Laced Cochins is tomorrow and I have one out!! 2 others are pipped. If I get lucky all 4 might hatch!
I love these Brinsea incubators!!
ETA: The one who hatched looks like a Gold Laced. I was hoping for a Gold Laced so bad.

How many turkey eggs did you lock down ? I just love those turkey poults, they are so cute !

I know how she feels lol!! I haven't hatched near as many as her but I'm finding it a bit too addicting. What am I going to do with no eggs to candle and babies to worry about??
I've got 2 Gold Laced Cochins so far and 1 Silver Laced out of these 4 eggs. Today's the actual hatch day so I'm still hoping for the 4th egg. Not great for 14 eggs but I'm just happy to have them.
