Cathy I am sad I missed the convention as well!!
Both girls are on the same level in many areas, I don't have everything ordered yet..... But got my list narrowed down some things I am shopping for used other resale is so high or hard to find that I order new.
We will use the Bible experience -- We will listen to a part everyday & the girls have the bibles to go with the listening -- we will make notes & questions & discuss. No real curriculum just studying the Bible
We will do homeschool band A- flute T- clarinet
Math is going to be chalk dust algebra
Science - apologia biology
Spelling- power spelling
Grammar-- I am thinking Abeka- boring but produces good results-- if the kids protest too much it will be BJU. But in 3rd grade Alexis was testing on 12th grade grammar with Abeka
History-- maybe sonlight-- it's my favorite - I enjoy reading the books with the girls, if not it will be BJU
Literature- sonlight or Abeka
Yes sonlight is suppose to be an all on one curriculum but I do think the kids need some more "structured" parts of their curriculum since we hope to get them to college.
Imagine we will do sewing as well- doubt we will do formal lessons this yr, unless we can do the lessons on the same day as band. I can teach A sewing well but T has multiple melt downs & she pushes my buttons when I try to teach her how to sew!!! She is older now hopefully she will do better, and not give up as easy.
I do like MUS but I havent looked into using it for highschool. I just want to make sure the girls will score will on ACT-- SAT
DH doesn't question curriculum to much any more. He usually just wants to know how much it will cost him.
