***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Welcome back! I'm from the NE side too!

The auction you were asking about first Saturday every month in the Inola area called Chupps...starts at 8am.

On the 16th (this coming Saturday) from 8-5 there is going to be an all day swap meet/auction starting at noon at the Muskogee fair grounds. here is a link with info and address.

What kind of chicks are you looking for?

Thanks for the info, not looking for anything specific. I have a friend that has the bug and wants to raise his own flock now.

HAHAHA the guinea humor has me laughing out loud.

I like my guineas too, but seriously? I enjoy listening to them and watching them (when they aren't picking on someone else) and when you're not smacking yourself in the head, wondering how they stay alive. Then again..... they probably think we're pretty dumb looking when we're chasing them... ya think?
I actually like to think that they're not dumb, they're just adapted to their natural ecological niche in the savannah. They don't do well as transplants because they're not evolved / adapted for the situations here.

Looks overcast today. If we have storms coming, I'm going to have to work extra hard to get the rest of the square bales in. If anybody going to N.E.O.C.S. needs square bales (mostly native grasses - - cows and goats love it), I have quite a few extras. PM me for price.

I've got some good news and some bad news to share. It's actually all good news if you look at it from the proper perspective. My chicken business plans are on hold due to earthquake and flood damage to the house. The school board at HIlldale met this week and I am officially hired to teach Senior English. I haven't taught British Literature in some time; four years ago, maybe... I'll have to brush up on a few things before August. The plan is to teach, teach, teach and pay off the repairs, then the mortgage, and somewhere in between there is a new commuter car in DH's future. HIs twelve-year-old commuter car is ready for retirement. We're thinking the mortgage can be eliminated in about seven years.

If anyone is looking for an excellent, excellent trailer, mine is for sale. PM for details. I can tow it to N.E.O.C.S. for pickup there. Measuring from the outside, the bed is 6 1/2 feet wide, twelve feet long, and the sides are 4 1/4 feet tall. The ramp is in great shape, and there is a lockable box up top near the front of the trailer. Because my chicken activities are on hold as of August, I want my most excellent trailer to keep working for somebody else. I can't bear to see it sit idle. I know I'm going to regret giving it up, but DH thinks I'll be fine with a tiny trailer that holds a few feed bags. I hope he's right. I'm spoiled after being able to put a mountain of stuff into the trailer and still have room. Off to feed the chickens. Have a great day!

Hate to hear that the chickens have to be put on hold but totally understandPoCo. Thats kind of where I'm at. I have thinned down to bare "escentials" and plan on spending more tinme getting us something to stay in built at the farm. Makes playing the lotterry look more inviting! Just have to keep focused on the end reward I guess. Look forward to sat. Heading that way thursday! Any prizies for comming the farthest!lol
