My birds' primary role is pet and egg-layers, I don't want to deal with aggression in any form either. If I were a breeder and had a specific reason for keeping an ornery bird I might, but that's not the case.
Put any kind of triple antibiotic on it, works like a charm.

This week I chained myself to the sewing machine and made curtains for my bedroom. I used fabric I already had so didn't have to buy any new fabric at all. My husband likes to see that since I have soooooo much fabric. Now I just need to get them hung. They will take differant hardware then I already have up I really don't want to spend extra money on this project so now I need to go on a scavanger hunt around the house and garage and see what I already have that I can repurpose for this project.

I have a whole bunch of little pole things that are for adjusting blinds if you need 'em. I tried to use them for something else and it was a total fail.

Thanks I found a couple of lengths of wood that will do the job. The curtains I made are lined and very heavy and will need quite a bit of support. I know all the decorating gurus say light thin whispy curtains, but they don't have the Okie west sun beating into their bedroom.

The two deer seem to be hanging in and around our yard. When I came home yesterday about 2:30, at least the buck was under the bird feeders about 10 feet from the house. Didn't see the doe, but that doesn't mean she wasn't there. Today about 3:30, we were playing cards in the dining room and one ran by the window and was again about 10 feet from the house. I think they're eating the peaches that drop from the tree in front, as I've found quite a few peach pits eaten clean as a whistle under the tree. I don't spray in the early spring, as the peaches usually get frozen, so the peaches are small and wormy. However, I can cut out the bad parts and they are very tasty.

Well we won't be making it to the auction tonight. I really wanted to go but between being rung out from 3 weeks of fireworks and going and getting stuff for Nathanael and Jack for camp this morning I am beat. Plus I found out that being at the top of a ladder with an ice pick making misters for the chicken pens is not a good spot for a hypoglycemic spell to hit. So I am going to kick back in the AC until about 6 and then get back out there and work in the garden. I bought new soaker hoses and need to pull weeds in the worst way. I tried to keep up with it during fireworks but it was a no go. We went to Lowes this morning and got 200' of 2x4 wire for the new pens. We may go out and mark those off tonight so hubby and will know where to put them.

Wish we could make it to Newcastle tonight, someone come home and tell me all about it, I am having withdrawls, lol.

there are alot of theories on taming a roo, basically carrying him around like a football while doing chores, pinning him to the ground etc in front of his girls- haven't had luck with those methods- gave up on my first roo- went to freezer camp, second roo i swapped with coral, and the roo i got from her is incredibly sweet- maybe you could talk to her and see if she has a docile roo you could swap her with?

I've got up and coming batches of chickie doos in breeds I want in my genetic pool, I'm hoping to get a gentleman or two from them. This fall Oreo will be 3 and he has been good until now, don't know what has caused him to loose his feathered mind, he has a bigger area to roam and more girls, I interact w/ my chickens, but let them be chickens I don't hold them or anything, but do feed them treats (bugs and veggies) by hand, allow them to dig and play in the dirt w/ me (I'm gardening they are looking for bugs.)

Maybe at the next BYC get-together we should have a fabric swap?
I have a walk-in closet full.

And/or Yarn. Although swapping would not reduce the size of my stash. *sigh*
