***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Awesome! Thank you will keep an eye out!
Good morning all!!! Blanchard if you have never been to the World of Wings you should really take your kids sometime, it is a wonderful museum about Pigeons and their rolls through out history, they have a wonderful Pigeon related library there and lots of different pigeons on display in pens that you can set and enjoy!!! Also learn a lot about the Racing Pigeons too!!! Not sure of their open schedule but they are located on the road north of Remington race track, you turn off 44 onto MLK like going to the zoo and take the first immediate left (coming from the north) like you are getting back on 44 but stay to the right, it is down maybe a few blocks on the right, there is also an American Racing Homer Office near it too. As for us, we raise a few Racing Homers and a few Rollers, Guy (aka Old Cowboy) has several pigeons, i know he has Lahores but not sure what else he has, he is very knowledgeable of pigeons and is always willing to help kids out!!! We have a few young birds about ready to come off the nest if you are interested in them. My few babies are really growing that the few Broodies hatched this year, not many but i am excited to have what I got. Not been a good year for broodies this year for me. Well I got a lot to do today, the BIL is coming to pick up his dog Sat eve, so I need to get the house straightened up, with my wonderful wife working all the time, it is up to me and the kids to try and keep up with the house and dinner, been slacking on the house work so need to do something TODAY!!! Nothing like waiting till the last minute!!! LOL Well everyone have a wonderful day!!! Lynn

I do believe Guy has those too, i know a Guy in Perry that has them in several colors, he shows them, If you get up this way and want to visit him let me know and I'll contact him, he drives a truck and is hard to catch sometimes, so let me know ahead of time, He is a great guy and loves birds and KIDS, he has helped a lot of kids get started in pigeons also, he has Modenas and Capuchins also!!! Update on "Rose" the buff orpington: Last night she was up acting absolutely fine. Chasing bugs and chasing the pullets. Rocking right along. I let them go to roost on their own and she kept running the pullets off of their roost but finally everyone settled down. I checked them again about 11:00 and they were sleeping fine. This morning I left the pop door open and they all got up and around on their own so I had my coffee and just let them do their "chicken thing". When my daughter woke up we went out to turn on the fan and the mister and feed them. Under Rose's roost I found these..........

The second picture shows the egg that was soft and the yolk was broken. The other egg seems normal. SURELY this had something to do with her discomfort yesterday!!

Hoping for a MUCH better day today.

I bet you're right. I wonder if they're both her eggs? I would think it'd be possible that her laying was interrupted when she went to a new home (nice as it is!) and that's what has caused her distress. You're going above and beyond in taking care of them, all chickens should be so lucky.

A lot of times hens will quit laying when they move to a new location. I've had hens lay one egg the day after they get to my place and then stop for a couple of weeks. I'm glad your hen seems to be getting better.

I've got baby chickie doo pics!!!!!!!!!!! These are the ones poco hatched for me from eggs I got from banjoe at neocs.

This darkest skinned and feathered one's skin is so dark it shines blue.

And this is my absolute favorite pic I've taken of them so far, gotta looooooooooooooooove those eye feathers!!!!!!!!!

And a couple pics of the araucana chickies just becouse.

Velasa half a second before snatching that bug and running for her breakfast! lol

The lighter of the two brown chipmunk colored these two are both tufted and rumpless, this lighter one is easier to get pics of the darker one isn't as camera friendly

Looks like the 60's flip up doo.

Excuse me, I may have a little bug juice on my beak.
