
So far, we have had 3 silkie hens hatch out a clutch of eggs. The funny part is that all of the hatches have been out of the same nest and after the first one, I pulled all the eggs that didn't hatch. I didn't see but a few eggs in the nest after the 2nd silkie hen hatched a clutch and moved them away from the nest, but the 3rd silkie hen apparently knew there were still viable eggs in the nest because she took over then nest and about a week later hatched her clutch of chicks. There are silkie roos running loose with the hens, but judging by the color on some, the bantam EE roo may be the daddy for at least part of them.
