***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I would think w/ rumpless there would need to be some araucana in the line somewhere, which is also an EE araucana mixed w/ something else.
doing a little research- there is a manx rumpless too- this baby's grandma was a hatchery orp, spice, lost her in the dieoff - her baby spicette is this little ones mama, half the size of a normal large fowl, daddy being Galahad- so this one will be small- really intriguing

My silkie broodies continue to hatch babes; one or two every day or so. Each of the three pens that are hatching has one parent that is a showgirl, but one has a showgirl roo, a showgirl hen and two silkie hens. In the last three weeks, they've successfully hatched 20 showgirls and 9 regular silkies. Tiny baby showgirls are really cute!

I'll have showgirls at the Shawnee show and sale the second weekend in December. A few will be adults and the rest will be about 2 months old.
Oh man, you shouldn't have told me that. I love my silkie and might have to get more.

Good Morning friends and neighbors!

....It`s Friday!

By the looks of the radar we have some rainy weather moving in from the West, that will make for a lazy day spent inside vegetating in front of the tube......

I hope y`all have a great weekend!

That is the best pic w/ that statement I've seen yet! May have to steal it.

Wow! Those are some big cats!!

I was wondering if someone could kindly point me in the direction of the thread where the Oklahomans sell/swap chickens.
I may be wanting to add a few hens to the flock.

I do plan to show a few at Shawnee. There will be a couple of really good breeders there with gorgeous birds and they usually also bring some to sell.

How many possums are there typically in a group? We have caught 3 in the same trap in the past 8 days. My husband told me that I wouldn't be able to catch the possums with eggs inside a live trap, when there was an open bucket of feed close by. I told him the open buckets of feed tell me there is still a varmit problem when they are knocked over - and the possums in the live trap nearby show that possums prefer eggs to chicken feed.
Possums don't run in packs or groups I think they just get higher populations in some areas where food is good and predation is limited that being said I have coyotes and I know bob cats around here not to mention dogs galore and last year I killed something like 30 possums to one coyote just around my yard and so far this year I've gotten 8 and possums and a coyote so I'm still keeping the traps set around baited either with eggs or cat food those both seem to work about the same and eggs are cheaper LOL What surprises me is that my egg sucking big red dog has never gone near or got caught in any of the traps I've set, I wouldn't want her to but it could break her from sucking egg so to speak LOL

i am a sucker for cochins and silkies, and faveroles, but for sheer enjoyment and pets- cochins and silkies for sure- here is one of my silkies,

there are friendly breeds, the dominques- black and striped and can be sexed at birth, so that makes it easier- not to be confused with barred rocks who tend to have 'attitude'..LOL!

and your duck needs a friend too, so he has a swimming buddy!!
