Ok here is what we do but still have losses on the buttons. I use the gamebird starter which is higher protien then I mix that 50/50 with finely chopped boiled eggs no shell on these though. On Turkeys and Pheasants I use shell and all.

Hello all my Okie buddy's :

Normally no drama here but this weekend I had some. While the girls were in NYC having some well deserved fun, I was calling the Ambulance to the house. I couldn't keep anything down not even water, I had severe diareha and a 104 temp, I couldn't stand or walk and could barley think straight. When they got me to the Hospital they put me in ICU because my blood preasure very low 40 over 50. They said my body had low defenses because of severe Dehydration and a nasty Virus that complicated things. Anyway I am home and recovering, I feel really crappy but I think I will be back in full swing in a couple of day's. The Doctor told me I was really lucky to have called when I did because I was already in the critical stage of Dehydration, and allot of things can happen when your blood preasure drops that low. I will try to come on here tonight and see how Y'all are doing, but need to lay down right now.

Hey okes

Sup? Hubby was gone most of the night replacing a transformer. He said he was feeling lousy and the other guy was burned out so it took them twice as long. He still has the runs... I finally gave him some of the stuff they gave me when I got Hep A awhile back. He seems peppy and he's HUNGRY!!!

Turned the A/C on, but have it set at 85. I hate paying that bill. Have a window unit in the bedroom... that's really all that matters *GASP*.

Big Al...sorry you ain't up to snuff. Said lots of prayers for you last night. Hope Laura and Alyssa had a lot of fun and are regaling you with the stories of their hijynx! Love you! If ya need anything call....I can tell stupid jokes if nothing else!

Good afternoon everybody.

First off Al you need to get some gatoraide or something in you to boost your electrolites, just like we have to do for our chicks, etc. Drinking a lot of water will help but it can make things worse by flushing out your system of the minerals you need. Henny this goes for your husband as well.

As Lynn mentioned we met at Mary's Swap Meet and I now have a beautiful samantra rooster. Thanks so much Lynn. I put my hen in with Mr. Roo and they seem to be hitting off really well.

It looks like love is in the air.

Also I have my first baby peachick hatching this morning when I got back home, so I am really excited about that.

It looks like at least 3 more have chicks inside of the eggs moving around.

I need some good hatching juju sent my way and any advice about what I can do for these sweet peachick babies to increase their survival rate would be greatly appreciated.

Al I'm glad that you caught it when you did.

Move around slowly and keep hydrated. No caffine, it can make it even worse. And it seems like once you get dehydrated like that you are susseptable to it like with heat stroke.

Al, I feel for you. Several years ago while baling hay in 100 plus weather, two breakdowns and not drinking enough fluids, stress from the repairing and on a deadline, I got myself in deep trouble. By early evening my wife drove me to the ER.

I barely remember the trip to ER. When we got there I almost changed my mind. My blood pressure was 60 over 40. No waiting in the lounge for me. They rushed me into a room and hooked me up to an IV. I think they had it open full blast.

They would have admitted me, but no insurance at the time. Dr. told me to buy stock in Gaterade and drink alot of it. I was diagnosed with heat stroke. They explained that I probably would not be able to tolerate heat the same way. You know what, they were right. My system overreacts to heat now and I have to be very careful to drink lots of water now. I can dehydrate so easily now. Take it easy for awhile and let your system recoup.

i had the same thing got too hot an dehid.have never been able to handle it again i geta bad rash as soon as i get hot an im down.i use to work in a steel foundry an it didnt bother me a bit.now i cant even work out in the yard in the heat
