Al! We don't want anything bad to happen to you - glad you called the ambulance when you did.

HennyP, I wonder if Mike has what Al did - he just had someone there at the time to watch out for him.

You're right Eulaine - we should designate a hospital for these guys so we'll know where to visit!

I'm done drafting the scripts!!. I've left the office (my house) exactly three times since May 18...of course I did spend my breaks in the yard watching the clucks, playing with kittens and messing in the garden. Now I'm headed out to buy critter feed, stock up on Coke Zero and groceries, and to visit the nearest SONIC!!

(If you want to know anything about fire officer's tactics ask me while it is fresh on my mind - DBF Jack has been teasing me by calling and saying stuff like "there's a fire on the 42nd floor of my high-rise - what do I do?!, or "There's smoke coming from the one of the stores in my strip mall, what do I do?!")

Seriously, if you get a chance, thank your firefighters - career or volunteer - that's a job I wouldn't want to have.

Al, my man. I am glad you are Ok and at least had the presence of mind to call 911. I hope you get to feeling better today. Take extra care of yourself. Do they think it was the bird flu, the swine flu, the Quail flu or what?
Keep us posted as much as you feel you can and you are in my prayers for sure.

I laid down on the bed about 9:30 last night to read my backyard poultry magazine. I fell asleep and didn't wake up until seven this morning. Bad thing is I am still sore and tired. I gotta learn to pace myself on those honeydew Saturdays.

Wow, Al, be careful. That sounds pretty scary. Glad you called the ambulance when you did.
We are up 6 more maran chicks. Might have a couple more hatch, not sure. Most of these are from Carla's eggs. I am so excited. I got some of her Turkens that might have the frizzle gene, but they aren't due for 18 more days.
Too hot outside for me right now. We are hanging out inside. Will be glad if it cools down some.

Thank you all very much for your concern & prayers, The girle are back home and I mentioned to my wife & DD what happened and I guess my timing was off cause they both kinda started weeping. Then I mentioned later that I was going to the job site Tomorrow, she wigged out and it was not a pretty site, so I may have to rethink my strategy. Yes I know this can reaccur more often in the future that is what happened this time, I have had heat stroke before, I guess I am not real smart about knowing when to quit.

My peachick that hatched is so beautiful. I am hoping it is a girl but for some reason have a feeling it is a boy. Not sure why but I am pretty good at figuring out the sex of peachicks. Go figure!

So I hope everyone is keeping cool. We are pretty lucky with the place being well shaded and a good breeze so I have not had to turn on the air yet but if it gets much hotter I probably well. Not looking forward to that electric bill.

Doing house work, taking it easy and of course making googly eyes at my new baby. Hope you all are having a good day.

They just love you, Al. It is the same for me with mike...I was bawling my eyes out when he got home last night. Our job is to take care of you, and sometimes no matter how hard we try....life gets in the way. I think for me it is God trying to teach me to let go....sometimes I can't fix it, which makes me depend on Him more. I could go on the rant about how you men make us crazy with your stubborness and pride, but you know all that....Feel blessed that you have two women who love you to death... some men would kill for that.
