I need to get Gerald to take a pic of it today ... which is another 2 weeks later.

Hey guys

Don: Was glad to see you!...Have been worried about you. Hope you are feeling OK.

Beth: She is the best kitty. Mikey named her Penelope Pitstop, but we call her The Peep. She is my best friend! I like the pic cause she's laughing!

Hatching Question #458:
I have one peep that pipped, but died before zipping
sad.png
....Can I take the corpse/egg out of the bator. The five other peeps are raising cain in the bator. This is just day 21...still have 3 eggs left unhatched.

Sad note...Swallow family on my porch lost their hatchlings in the danged heat. They have had a rough year this year. First we accidently knocked their nest down and they had to rebuild elsewhere...now this.... I feel badly for them.

This heatwave has got to go.

Hi Don! I haven't been on much so I've missed you! Are you doing okay this summer? Staying out of the heat?

Note this date: July 12, 2009 - I just got my first egg from this flock! They're 19 weeks old, and have been acting and talking the talk, but not walking the walk for about 2 weeks. Tonight I found a small green egg by the ramp next to the pop door. So one of my EEs gets the prize for First Egg!! How much did this egg cost, you ask? Here's how the numbers work out, roughly:

$37.12 - One dozen pullet chicks, including shipping, etc.
$30.00 - Feed from 2 days to date
$60.00 - Feeders and waterers
$20.00 - Heat lamps and bulbs
$40.00 - Deck box for brooder
$15.00 - Pine shavings
$30.00 - DE @ 50 pounds
$1,500.00 - Materials for hen house and run (labor not included)
_____________________________________________
$1,737.12 - Total cost of first homegrown chicken egg - small

Now I'll have to get some golf balls or some kind of fake eggs and begin remedial nest box classes...

Evening OKIES !!!!!!!.

Monty : Nice pic, good to see ya again ya big Galoot. That big duece & 1/2 sure is lookin good, if I remember correctly it looks freshly painted I remember actually having to do that, No tellin how many miles I have spent in the seat of those bad boy's. They are the work horses of all of the branches.

Carla : super nice garden and sure looks like a bunch of work picking veggies, but then again the picking is the fun part.

Henny's : That Cat looks just like Alyssa's fur bag to the tee.

Marybeth : How is your garden fairing so far in this sweltering weather??, I have only lost one plant but some seem like they want to go Dormant to protect themselves from the heat, Mainly the Maters. Last yr they were already standing at 6' by end of july, but they are hanging in there.

Thanks everyone for thinking of me.. I read all the post everyday..I just can't always find the words to reply so..
My days are Day to day, My head doesn't bother me as much when I stay out of the sun, I really don't understand how that has any effect but it does..and it's not the heat..I think more the glare in my eyes..The Dr.'s said that I would notice it in my eyes first..and they were right..
I really need to make an appointment so I can see how much my friend has grown in the last 6 months...But truth be told I really do want to know..so day by day..
