Henny-I thought that I saw Monty in that pic somewhere behind the Tidy Cat.
Poco-funny!
Al-I forgot to tell you about trying the white BBQ sauce a couple of weeks back. I hadn't gotten any cream yet so I did the mayo base with ACV, lemon, horseradish, tapatio (out of cayenne), fresh ground pepper, and some other stuff I don't remember now after grilling. It turned out pretty good and different. I have some cream now but need to make the time to grill to try that base with basting. Thanks again for the ideas.
Monty-on the chicken flock, project, plans I know I'm running a day or 2 behind but I figured since I nevered have actually told you guys what we have here...my wife said she wanted to diversify her flock. She has had white leghorns in the past and now has NHR, RIR, BO, RSL, brown leghorn and an EE camouflaged to look like a RSL.
I don't think she quite had all this in mind cause now I've added RIW, BR, EE, cochin, Delaware, Welsummer, various bantam, Silkie, Spitz, polish, hamburgs, marans, penedesenca, kraienkoppe, Lakenvelder, light Brahma, sumatra, wyandottes, blue andalusians, olive eggers, and more. Of course in some of the breeds I got her several varieties/colors! The projects/plans for these 100 or so birds depends on hen/rooster count but I'm hoping right now for a regular rainbow of eggs and birds for her. I think that she thinks that I've lost my mind. Well?!!! We will probably do some breeding projects in the future maybe even for some meat birds and hatching eggs. We raised some cornish X this year and will do more in the fall just for my family but I have also been looking at the colored rangers and the dixie rainbows with interest. I'm hoping to hear about success from some of the Okies on here that are working on their meat bird projects. My wife also felt the need to buy some goats for milk
and we still have the pot-bellied pig, any takers?
Good night/morning Okies and have a great weekend everybody.
