Chicklooker--Thanks. I was afraid to try to build one before. I was afraid I would do something wrong and lose hatch. I have gone through the fire of losing chicks, chickens, ducks, turkey's, etc. so now I know it's just part of the game. You win some and lose a lot sometimes.

I was horrified the first time I started losing chicks. I lost a bunch this summer and as I look back on it I know some mistakes that I will correct the next time I hatch a large batch. Chalk it up to experience.

All 6 were styrofoam bators ??, yeah you do need a bigger one and a plan, Well start by finding something big enough and suitable for a bator conversion, once you have that nailed down we can get all the other stuff done in no time. Like I said we will have some things at POOPS for sale like thermostats and things and we could write out how to wire it for you.

Chuck--I got the pics and I would love to have it but I just don't think I can afford $500 right now until we know what we're going to do about moving. We will only be moving across the pasture but will have 7 acres, a new house, pond, HUGE metal barn, etc. We are just on hold on spending too much until we know for sure.

Al- Like what would I look for the base? I've seen people talk about using old refrigerators, etc. Is there some site that I can read about this to know a little of what to look for?

Donna I have pics of my Sportsman with a tape measure held to it if you would like to see them. There is really nothing to one of those things.

The turner would be the hardest things to duplicate and they are not wide enough to put a turner out of a styrofoam bator in one.

You available to talk tomorrow? I could call then, maybe we can meet up. My kids catch the bus at 7:00 and I'm free all day.
