I forgot to mention that I found my chickens in Pryor, from an add on craigslist. This lady has all young'uns, 16 to 18 weeks old, and a bunch or turkeys as well. Here's her add...

The rooster in the bottom left photo in that add is the one I got and the 3 pullets are really nice looking!

Her name is Christine, so if you're looking like I was give her a call.

Matt

O'Yea, I almost forgot.... I have photos to share!!

Here's a photo of my new rooster, Amos. I interupted him while he was eating a sandia watermelon I got out of the garden this morning, he likes it!

And here are his 3 gals, they have been helping with the melon and already ate a whole tomata, a big'un!

They all seem to like the pen I made for them. It has a nice roost and three next boxes in it and they have loads of grass to scratch around in for now.

and my last pic is of the babies! Maria and I went out there and pulled all the bands out of their wings this morning, they don't seem to troubled by it all. Mostly they just wanna go outside, I wonder, how old should they be before I open the coop door and let them go out into the run??

MAllen - Looks super !!!!! Are you sure those are RIRs? They
are colored more like New Hampshire Reds. If they are NHRs,
you won't be disappointed. They are super layers and sooooo
good natured. Looks like you're off and runnin'.....and it'll get
a lot worse before it gets better...... How many acres did you
say you have?....LOL

With the babies, once they're feathered out pretty well, you
could let them out for a bit on a warm afternoon. They'll be
a total hoot to sit and watch.

Yup, you've caught this "habit"....and so far, doesn't seem to
be any cure.......... 12 step program?????....Hum, don't guess
I know anyone that's made it past step 2..............

Have a good one !

Mallen:

I don't want to disappoint you or whatever but your chickens aren't Rhode Island Reds.
The rooster looks to be a New Hampshire Red and I am not sure what the hens are maybe a New Hamp/ Buff Orpington Cross.
Doesn't matter though because they are healthy and gorgeous.

Man I really like those little quonset huts you have. What did you use for the framework?

Hey remember I made it to step three but of course now I am back to step one.

Les Les Les!!!!!
I am so glad you are here? I have a line on a supposedly Madagascar rooster. He is white though. i didn't know they came in white. Is this a good thing? I get him on Saturday. I can't wait.

Those look like the Porta-Huts that they sell for hogs but If they are home made I want to know how the tin was bent without kinking or creasing it.

Pre-bent angle iron can be bought in either 5ft or 6ft radius. They are used for nose bows in the BP stock trailers. I often use the roof bows for putting tops on pens.

I've never seen them in white but as you know sports are common when breeding. They happen naturally in the wild but white birds just wouldn't last in the tiger infested jungles of SE Asia.

Been to the German Malay Club's website? They have some good pics of the Mad. Games. Al can translate it if need be. (or just click on the US flag to translate)

Ugly ? A wise guy heh? Why I oughta !

Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck

Thats all of the Stooge stuff I can recall right now.

Thanks for the link.

So whatya think. Should I cross them over a frizzle silkie or what?
