all vets rock... but I am especially fond of the Vietnam guys. They took a ration of crap for serving in that hellhole (can I say that?) With no dang big bashes when they got back or anything. Jane Fonda should be shot. I love you guys.... all y'all out there.

I wish we didn't have to miss the Chupps Auction on Saturday, but Gerald thinks a 2 1/2 hour drive and $70 in gas (minimum) is too much. Oh well, I can still feed my addiction at the Cement Auction. Does anyone intend to go to the Cement Auction Saturday? We might stop by the Newcastle show to look before we get ready for the auction in Cement. At Cement, we intend to sell some nice roosters ... a few cuckoo marans, 1 golden cuckoo marans, a wheaten marans, and whatever else I can find. I sure have a lot of silkie and buff orpington and jersey chicks to sell, too.

Gosh, I sure wish the Blanchard and Jones auctions weren't both on the same day next Saturday, the 11th. I don't know which one would be the best to attend.

I hope to see many of ya'll soon, either at the show, or auctions or Chickenstock or wherever!

I may end up going to cement I am looking for a buck but we will have to see. I can not seem to remember if cement had many rabbits for not, anyone?

Also I was thinking last night about the auctions that have popped up in the last year. I know that cement and Blanchard are new. any others?

Yes, Cement auction has rabbits usually, and some really nice looking ones too. That's where I bought Countyroad1330's bunny. You just never know what rabbits people will bring.

The Jones auction for poultry is new and starts up next Saturday. They've been selling livestock for quite a long time, but not poultry. I've never been there, but sure would like to try the poultry auction. I'll probably go to the Blanchard one though, since it's so much closer.

We hope to see you and Hennypennies there in Cement today!

Well I will be going if for nothing else then to get out of my now noisy office, we had a broody sitting she got off nest for about 2 hours so we took her chicks (could not take the eggs as we no do have any of the 3 incubators going right now) and she went back to sitting. We will be keeping 4 of the 8 so far (6 more eggs under her) . One of them is the cutest little buff turken.

Yeah, we'd be going even if not to sell anything. It's just fun to get out and see what other people have.

We've hatched a few turken chicks lately too! Unfortunately, I can't convince Gerald that we don't need to keep them. We have too many chickens though!

I think we'll be bringing some chicks with us today too. We've had quite a few jersey giants, buff orpingtons and silkie chicks hatch lately, along with some white guineas.

Carla- I just have to ask. Do you have any idea how many animals are on your place or are you like me and the number changes all the time about every 2 or 3 months I actually go and do a head count. I am bad that way.

I'll be taking my son to football games today so I won't try to go to Cement. I do want to go to Jones next week.
If anyone goes to Jones, plan a trip to Rooster's Cafe.
Giant Chciken Fired steaks and very good chicken fried chicken.
Maybe we could plan a BYC party there sometime before the auction.

We have no idea how many birds we have, lol. I'm guessing a couple hundred, but it might not be that many. Gerald jokes that someone could take several away each day & we'd never notice. It's mostly young birds that aren't breeding age yet ... but they sure grow fast. I think we only have about 50 layers total.
