There are birds she raises that most of us would consider a "big investment" to even be able to get hatching eggs!

OHH I know they are fantastic birds, they are very high $$$ birds. And she just came out of the blue to offer them, she said she has been following our POOPS thread.

With only one week left till POOPS, I have to say all the Okies (and a couple of other extra-special members) have really pulled together to guarantee this will be a great event

Something I, personally, would like to see a bit more of in the raffle is Hatching Eggs....but as long as everyone promises they're at least bringing their extras to the auction, I won't complain too much....

TJ's Na-Na :

rodriguezpoultry - CONGRATULATIONS on your Minorca.
What's up with the judge knowing which birds were yours??????
Do you all do the "table" shows up there like we do in
Cherokee County? At our shows, the kids actually carry their
birds to the table and "show" them. But, we always use
"from of out of town" judges. But, then again, we don't have
an Open Show for adults here. Gees, don't want one !!!!!!!
Kendra and TJ are ALL I can keep up with. I sure don't want
Pa-Pa entering birds !!!!!!!!!!!

And, our "Okies in the BYC" list grows. Dern, we are GOOD !!!!!

Have a good one !

I hate to say it, but it was the quality. He could tell the birds that I entered were true show birds, and the others there...well...Atwoods gets alot of business in the spring ya know? He could tell just by looking at the cages which were mine. The "tabs" were closed so he could only see the breed. I had actually asked the super not to have my birds judged but she said that people needed to know what was considered good.

What ticks me off are the parents who won't tell their kids "Don't TOUCH."

Thanks for the congrats!

Oh...Parents and their kids.....Gees !!! We about came to blows
at the fair last evening..... The culprit was a 12 year old that
Bill had gotten onto "FOUR" times to keep his hands OFF the
testing boards, antigen, etc. Who's kid was it ?????? Go figure,
our Grandview School's 4-H Leader's kid !!!!!!!!!!!! Given a
chance, he could probably be a good kid. And, heaven help us,
she teaches reading at Grandview.........LOL

Like Bill says...."All's fair in marbles, (something else.?), and
County Fairs.........LOL

See y'all Saturday....if not before.......

Have a good one !

Any idea how that buff orpington roo did?? Chance has changed his mind and does not want to sell him, but he told me this before the judging.

Evening all! I think the fair people should show the kids how the real judging is so that when they grow up they know the right rules for adult competion. I understand wanting all to be rewarded someway but it should be just an E for effort ribbon or something. Human nature being what it is there is know way to not show favortism and that turns away a lot of would be competitors.
Bought me a BCmaran young roo today!

I was telling my wife about it this morning and was saying I couldn't figure out what varmit I was fighting. As I said that I looked out the window and there is a hawk haging on the door, skaking it trying to get it open!
