I remember once hitting a raccoon on the way home from Lawton. I felt horrible...I had killed one of God's creatures!

That was then....This is now....

Well Al beat me to the big board thank you post but I second everything he said 100 percent.
It takes all of us to make something like this be successful.

Al, I may be the guy that started this thing but you are the guy that has taken the proverbial ball and ran with it.
I appreciate everything you have done. From the simple stuff to the huge and by huge I mean (embarrassing) I guess you were right. The Chickendales were a hit.
Thanks again for your irresistable force and the foresight to make such an event even better.

You were wrong about one thing, I am not da man you are!

I also want to thank Michael. Most of you guys don't know him because he doesn't post on our board but he donated several quality birds for the auction and he also spent a lot of money on things including a bunch of raffle tickets that he gave away to others.
Thanks Mike.

I'm near Tulsa; I'd love to be in on more "talks."

Maybe the BYC Okies in our area could get together for lunch nearby and get to know each other better. I know there are quite a few of us!

Beth...that sounds like a wonderful idea...

...it seems that most of the ones that get together are down around the city.

Well, I'm all dressed in my butchering clothes heading out to butcher my 50 pound turkey. If I'm not back in 6 hours, send out the search party.

Better yet, send the posse, because it probably means I lost.

Wish me luck!

Grace...I am so sorry for your loss. I know it must have been a shock to find such a site. Please know that you and your dad are in our prayers for peace. Competing with nature is so frustrating especially when you put so much hard work into your animals and have something like this happen.

Grace, I just read about your loss. I am so sorry for you. Those were amazing Hamburg Banties. They had won so much. I'll keep my eyes out for hatching eggs. I looked in the usual place and they aren't offered right now.

Do you have a fence around your yard? Maybe it's time to find a good dog to protect them. I did have a problem with coons getting my chickens until I got dogs. Now I have to dog proof my pens but that is far easier than coon proofing. (Did I just say coons were smarter than my dogs?)

Grace's Dad don't beat yourself up. We always have 20/20 vision when we look back at a situation. Just get rid of the one(s) responsible for it. We live and we learn.

I am sick just thinking of this. My family will pray for you and your birds.
