OMG... Black Oak Arkansas...haven't thought of them in years...They opened for Blue Oyster Cult back in the 70s.

I would pick Rockola. They are out of San Diego, california. The guy that owned the company that Mike worked for hired them to play his Christmas and New Year's Eve parties. Oh heavens, they could play anything. And they could get people dancin'! Even Mikey. I always wore heels to those things, but by 10:00 pm everyone's shoes were piled in a corner and we'd be cutting the floor in our ball gowns. Dang they were good....ah... the good ole days....when life was fun. They always did California Dreaming and could even do the flute solo in the middle...Jeez...they were great....*heavy sigh*.

Tina I am really sorry to hear about your best friend. I am going to call mine up and tell her I love her. Mine is more like my sister than my sister....Of course my sister is an ultra-liberal anti Bible Christian (and I don't know how in the h3ll that works!) Anyways suffice it to say I will be praying for her and her family and YOU!!! Hang in there.

I moved furniture all day yesterday. Shoulda see my fat arse lugging oak bookcases up and down the hallway from the living room to the office.... I am defiantely NOT 25 anymore. Moved everything in the dining room and living room. I've lived here over 5 years now and have never moved a thing.... And I am throwing away everything that is not nailed down. Mike says I am going through something because of my mom. Maybe so.... But if I haven't used it in 3 months it's outta here. This will be my fourth truckload to Goodwill. I am sure I will repent later in leisure.

Hope everything is going OK in OkielLand. Y'all are gonna get storms...we got wind!! And dust! Does that count?

Lightning what exactly do your turkeys have? Sounds like some serious stuff. I hate the Snarkies.....*sigh* Oh well...off to the salt mines......

They only good thing about it is now Don has to kill all of the 10 rooster running around. I disliked the little brats anyway. They always get me when my backs to them and I have shorts on. We know what to look for so if they and will just burn them. Don won't be to happy, he likes the roosters. He trying to figure out how to skin them. We doing five today the regular way. The other five we do tomorrow when they been off feed 24 hours. I burned four pairs of shoes today too. I am ordering toss away slip on boots today. I have to many chickens and turkeys to lose everything.

This one pen of turkeys is away from my chickens too. I separated things in case one group got sick and boy I am glad I did.

The Ag guy said Carla's turkeys sure looked good and healthy.

Don said God knew I was going to be very upset over losing my chocolates. That why God had Marybeth to tell me about Micheal's turkeys. We going to Tx next weekend and I want to see if we can meet him on our way back. They will have a NEW house in a area that never had chickens or turkeys on it for them. Thank God I hadn't put my new turkeys out there or my new chickens.

His guy going to be pretty upset with me because he getting a visit from the State to test his bird. I had to give them his address,phone number and all. And by the time the agent told me he had to have all that , I was so mad I didn't care if he so upset with me. Figured I shouldn't be the only one upset.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but I never did see what disease it was that your turkeys had...I hope your birds do well under the circumstances. I am so curious because I am rather new to the chickens! I am always wanting to learn....

If you want them to eat the laying pellets you have to take everything else away from them. I was doing the same thing, feeding them everything and they wouldnt eat their layer. I am now giving them only layer in their feeders and in the evening I go out with a handful of scratch for each pen. I will be giving them 2 or 3 handfuls of scratch come winter. I have been doing this for 2 weeks and already have seen major improvement in their laying.

Do you think that will work when they are still foraging as much as they are? I just don't want them to get skinny--already a few a re skinnier than I want them to be (we got them this way)

Bad news... I had to cull my Stawberry shortcake. I tried to no avail to fix her prolapse. She was so sweet up to the end, still eating, drinking, laying eggs. Just this prolapse kept coming out of her body and I couldn't let her suffer anymore.

Good new is, I learned to process a chicken. I have to admit it isn't as bad as I had anticipated. YEAH! Now, I am debating getting some meaties? Anyone do this? how much work are they?

Did you know that Black Oak Arkansas was the highest grossing touring band of the 70's? They sold out Shea Stadium faster than the Beatles. I saw them in Riverside CA., and I think that Alice Cooper opened for them. But don't quote me on that.
