Sweet or just wanting to drive the truck, I'd take him up on it. lol
My little one is still sick. If she still has a fever tomorrow, I'm supposed to take her in. I can get the fever down with meds, but as soon as they wear off, the fever is back. Trying to keep the baby from getting it.

She won't eat a popsicle. I offered. She is willing to eat ice cream. She is already a little tiny thing, I hate for her to lose any weight. She actually doesn't mind the motrin or tylenol. They are flavored liquids.

my mom always gave us grape juice to break a fever, catnip tea is what i used with my daughter, it will break a fever too

update on grandson, he is now home, his cousin got a hunch and went to find him- apparently he was feeling like he was dragging the family down and thought they'd be better off with him not there- he was an only child till he chose to live with dad, they have 6 other kids, from 11 to 6 months- so it is a busy house- keep praying for him

Wow, I had a long day

But it was great!
I was really down about not having the Hamburgs to show, but I won more than ever, anyway! And we did get a lead on a SS Hamburg bantam breeder!!
Oh, I got to see some BYCers too

You guys with the kids that are spiking fevers... there was a couple in ER last night with a boy I would guess to be about 6. He was flat out in his dad's arms with a fever of 104.5 when they brought him in. About an hour later his fever had broken and he was, I kid you not, running up and down the halls in his sock feet. His mom said he had been doing that for 4 days...

(Poor lady) Anyways they tested him and said type A flu. It should run out eventually...the usual drill, gatorade, tylenol traded off with motrin....The doc that was going off duty when I got there (

) is my favorite one out here and he said the swine flu was a strain of type A (If I understood him correctly) and it's no worse than the usual flu...just different so no one has built up any immunity. He said that's why it was running rampant...He made it seem like the media is causing a panic and that there a different strains every year. He said that by the time they got the vaccines out, it would have altered enough from the original strains to make the vaccines practically useless. He said Tamiflu was running out and they would eventually have to compound it, and he was only giving it out to people who were really sick...one kid had A and B flu. They were having a fit because the nursing homes have been instructed to not bring people in for fever and headache etc. to avoid swamping the ER. They figured my mom had the flu...jeez... that is scary.

Dr. Les.... I have an electrolyte that has probiotics in it..Merricks is the brand name I think... can I give that in place of yogurt. Was trying to figure out how to make that mash for 50 hens. They seemed to have turned the corner...I think the worms were what killed my two big hens... they were so thin. Now they are eating their pellets...I am going to grind the kitten chow up and mix it in with their pellets by handfuls or so. I think I was really overfeeding scratch. I don't know if I told ya or not but the very first person I ever talked to about chickens told me one handful of scratch per chicken per day. I have read in places on here that it should be no more than 10% of daily intake. I think that was closer to 30-50% depending on the chicken. I have 7 week olds out there...is it OK to switch them from medicated starter to layer...? I have been using that Rooster Booster and PolyVisol on the weakest ones...they are starting to cheer up. Danged worms...should have wormed them first....woulda saved some hens, some headaches and some cash.

Has anyone seen Al? Hope he didn't get the flu...NO FLU!!!!
