I went to the Tulsa State Fair poultry show today. Saw the Bailey Bunch - they did pretty good. LOTS of bantams there, and some nice large fowl. I tried not to look at the ducks, although those cute little call ducks did manage to catch my eye. I'm working on posting some photos of some of the stars of the poultry show...!

Dang! I just heard the Dogs 101 narrator on TV say that Michaelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel with a Pomeranian!! Oh, okay...with a Pomeranian "at his side."

My 5 yo is still sick. She is playing right now, the tylenol has kicked in. When it wears off, she runs down, another dose of medicine, she's playing again. Won't eat much. I am giving her anything she asks for. She is drinking some gatorade for me at least. Trying to keep her away from the baby makes me feel bad, but Stormi isn't quite 3 months old and I'm sure she has been exposed already, but we are doing our best to keep her safe. She nurses so I am doing my best to stay healthy. I'll be glad when this over. I don't envy anyone with a sick child.

Al, take it easy. Who will help organize the next POOPS if you don't take care of yourself.

TJ's Pa-Pa Bill will probably soon learn to hide when he sees me, since I capitalize his time asking tons of questions. Those Modern bantams are some alien looking creatures, let me just say. I got to say hello to TJ and Na-Na but I didn't get photos of them. They were all sporting their People of Oklahoma Poultry Swap shirts! Na-Na told me to be sure to go to the pig races - I'm glad I did (thanks Na-Na!)!

I saw a couple of RodriguezPoultry's Langshans, but they hadn't been judged yet. I didn't see RoPo herself. I hope her birds did well!

Al sorry to hear you are down and hope you recover quickly.

I always dreaded sheeting a roof with plywood on windy days. Saw a guy take off like a plane one day but luckily he wasn't hurt.

Henny studies on caged birds say that a brown egg layer will eat 4oz of feed daily so 10% of that isn't very much. That is one pound daily for every four birds or for your 50 about 12.5 lbs of feed daily. 1.25 pounds of scratch for all the birds so a bag of scratch should last you a little under a month and a half.

Les...there is no way they are eating that much!! OMG...I have defective hennies!!! Well... I mean....I knew that.... but.... 12 lbs!!! I give them 2 of those 17"range feeders and it lasts a day and a half. But they only have access during the day...

Evening everyone,

Jason and I worked on the run for the chicks and all thats left is to make a gate for us to have access to the inside of the run... But boy did we have a heck of a time trying to catch a 8 week old pullet that made a sly escape outta the run... she took off towards the trees and was bout 20 min before we finally caught her with the fishing net....

then of course we had loads of fun (NOT) trying to round up all 27 chickens to put back in the coop... I am sure they were like HECK NO you just get us outside and now you wanna put us back in there... I dont think so... so picture two grown adults trying to catch these guys... it was a sight.. but funny at the same time...

Anyhoot hope you all are enjoying your evening... Jason and I are trying to come up with some names to name our place... I figure all good homes deserve a name to be recognized by and not just the address number or street name...
