Good morning all!

Its rainy here and feels like atypical fall morning. Getting some color now. The squirrels are busy, busy. The squrriels are dummber here! :confused:We have a real short stretch of road in front of the house between two s curves. Traffic has to slow down but the silly squirrels still get run over!

Good morning, everyOkie! I just caught up on all the posts - thanks for the reminder on the Blue/Black/Splash genetics. Is there such a thing as a blue cochin? I guess it could be made with a splash and black...

Not that anyone cares because it's just me jabbering through my fingers, but someday I want to build several of those neato little bantam condos like MAllen and Sooner have, then I can get some mille fleur cochins and something in blue. That mille fleur cochin thread here on BYC has me seriously lusting after a feathery something in that color.

I think my biggest problem is that my heart wants to be "wild and free" and have chickens just for fun, but my brain is so danged practical about everything it won't let me stop thinking about chickens as just livestock and let me have them "just" for fun - they have to be useful.

Here's to my mean, no fun brain.

Morning everyone!

yep another wet dreary morning here!

City I have to agree with your on the mille fleur cochin's but I have a question. Once you have the Millie color do you have to do any special breeding to keep that color????? Same question for the Blue's.

Let me have it my okie friends.

Monty thanks for the Maran info, I have them seperated right now and gonna keep them that way thanks to your info!! I love the dark egg layers gotta get more!!!city if I am not mistaken you can breed a balck roo and white hen and get 50/50 blue but then if you breed 2 out of that hatch it goes to 100 percent. But to make sure the man to talk to is TJS NaNas Bill I am not sure that I am exactly right

Back when Carah was looking to build her Cochin tractor I was asked to post a picture of my Tractor. I looked till I was blue to find it. Well I finally found it here it is. Nothing fancy but it works. They are on the ground in this style but I am just using these birds as breeders.

Tina thanks for posting that!! I have saved a copy and will most likely use it in the spring for silkies and maybe cochins when I want to put them on grass for a couple of hours.

Q I am doing great.

You know the Shawnee show. If anyone was going to need a motel. I think I will be making reservations now. By then the closest one you would be able to find would probably be in OKC. Which OKC is only 22 miles from Shawnee.
