I want to thank everyone for the prayers for my grandma. She was discharged yesterday. The doctors have decided to hold off on giving her any more chemo until her next scan in Nov. She is not sure whether she will agree to anymore treatments. She is staying with her sister in Eufala until she gets the strength to care for herself. She is in good spirits.

Man, I love my rubber boots. Won't do morning chores any more without them. We wore them all the time on the dairy when I was a kid.

My brother calls them REAL cowboy boots.

Told my mom that's what I want for Christmas, told her I wanted hot pink or red.........hoping to keep my boys out of them!

My daughter has polka dotted ones. Jared hasn't tried to wear them as far as I know.

My daughter had to have black ones like daddy. My son also has a pair. I'm the only one without any. I choose not to go outside if I need rubber boots to make it.

Morning Okies

Another exciting day in Paradise!! Had to get up at 2:00 am to let dogs out and the sky was amazing!!! Orion was blazing away!!

Mikey's birthday was yesterday so we had our friends from Dallas up to visit. It was fun...we drove all over southwest Oklahoma looking at the sights...there is a place over by Tipton that has raw prairie...heavens...grasses, succulents, wildflowers, plum thicket.....reall enjoy going over there to gawk.

Chickens are rockin...everybody is looking alive and cheerful. We are having lots of wind...Anyone else? Can tell a cold front is coming....

Mike is really depressed about the Jets...Sanchez threw 5 interceptions...Mike said he quit counting after that!!! LOL...I was a Cowboys fan...but only during the Tom Landry days...after that was when football started going downhill and it was all about the money....

sfmfam...hope the kids are doing better. I had a virus back in June that gave me a spike fever of 103 every evening for about 10 days after the virus left....same thing happened when I had the chicken pox at 26....

Rubber boots rock...I would wear mine all the time, if I could get away with it...I have been having issues with feet also. When I fell off that roof in 2000...I landed on my feet...now where the toes hook on is really going crazy. I knew when I got the injury it was going to be one of those deals that the older I got...etc....but I was never expecting to live in the cold.....that really exacerbates the aching.... Treadmill is going to get interesting.

Hope everyone is feeling okie dokie

Thanks again Les, for all the help....Im waiting for the weekend to see what happens with the cold...LOL....

Can't we just forget about that debacle?

I agree.

Now on chicken-related topics. I finally have no incubators running in the house. My last 2 guineas have finally hatched. They were abandoned my broodies at about day 16-18. I think I'm going to clean them up and put them away for the winter.

Oh who am I kidding. I have nowhere to store them and I have way too many eggs in the kitchen. I'll probably start some more eggs to raise as laying hens and broilers for the spring. Question is, should I start some ducks and guineas or just chickens.
