Has anyone seen the Ambien CR commercial with the rooster walking down the dark, cold, lonely, wet street... I'll admit I am not a big fan of roos... but that is the sorriest, saddest sack I have ever seen... I would even take him in!!

I am seriously jazzed... I got my chillin with my peeps T-shirt and BYCU hoody today! They are awesome!! I am so blessed !! A big hug to Nifty for all his hard work!!

WOO-HOO!

not at all, i have had him for about 3 months, he was pretty rough looking when i got him, but he is starting to come around. i dont think ill ever get rid of him, that and he leads all of the others into the coop at night.

I would just like to spread the word...that SOMEONE in NE OK has been stealing my birds. I've lost 1 RIR pullet, 1 Barred Rock bantam pullet, 1 Self-Blue D'Uccle and they MURDERED my other Standard Barred Rock pullet by ripping off it's leg and stuffing her into the back of the coop.

To the person stealing IF you are on here. I WILL find out who you are.

Mikarod, that is terrible! But, are you sure it is not a four-legged creature taking off with your birds?

Carla, congratulations

Absolutely. The birds were in the pen and then disappeared. No sign of them anywhere. No feathers, no blood, no disturbance in the leaves. The run is partially covered in cyclone fencing and has chicken wire with cyclone fencing all the way around. The gate was moved away from the entrance and I found one of the "missing" birds with only one leg...no blood. The other Barred Rock must have hid or something because she is the only one there. She also happens to be the one that is the most difficult to catch. The fencing is 6' tall and the width is about 4' and the length is about 5'. No arial predator could have gotten in and this happened during the daytime...so possums, weasels, and other nocturnal predators are ruled out.

The only feasible one would have been a cat...however...my cat will fight with ANY cat on the premises. We've only had one stray cat on our property..she fought it and we killed it.

I've seen strikes from Bobcats and Fox at all hours of the day. And both are excellent climbers. No blood with the lost leg seems it was lost after the hen was dead. However many legs your predator has I hope you catch them.

Hey Countyroad,

I'm sure that your dad will be just fine. I had my first bout with heart trouble at 35 years old (my dr called it "evidence of a misspent youth"). Here I am, 22 years later and still goin' pretty strong.

Tell him to hang in there and that we're all prayin' for him.

OK it's official... winter's here. The dog bowl was frozen solid this morning.

Stimp, that is your best sig line yet. Love those rough men!

Hubby is having a holiday party at work today. I made my pecan praline yams. Their parties are HORRIBLE. Mike's boss is a blow hard from Texas who always tries to bait me into an argument by calling Mike a loser. He might go home today missing some parts! Al will you throw my bail?

Hope everyone stayed warm and toasty... I was really freaked out yesterday... saw a lady with no shoes in United. She looked pretty rough. We may all end up without shoes before this is over. May God look out for us all.
