Absolutely. The birds were in the pen and then disappeared. No sign of them anywhere. No feathers, no blood, no disturbance in the leaves. The run is partially covered in cyclone fencing and has chicken wire with cyclone fencing all the way around. The gate was moved away from the entrance and I found one of the "missing" birds with only one leg...no blood. The other Barred Rock must have hid or something because she is the only one there. She also happens to be the one that is the most difficult to catch. The fencing is 6' tall and the width is about 4' and the length is about 5'. No arial predator could have gotten in and this happened during the daytime...so possums, weasels, and other nocturnal predators are ruled out.
The only feasible one would have been a cat...however...my cat will fight with ANY cat on the premises. We've only had one stray cat on our property..she fought it and we killed it.
