Les I thought of you tonight. The poultry judge at the show tonight had a NN on the back of his jacket. I took a pic to show you but my camera is charging now so I will post tomorrow.
NN I'm pic posting challenged!lol. Pm me your e-mail addy and I can send some. Are those Asils you posted? I'm still worrying wheather mine are bantams or small LF. I have never seen any others to compare with. One is laying now and its egg is as big as normal heavy hens would be.
Oh! When I first got started in chickens, someone had told me how to cut a knob off of a comb so I could show my bird. I didn't think that sounded like a good idea, so when I joined the BYC I asked about it. And OH the wave of opposition that came! I was so embarrassed.
Hello everybody! I was told recently about the Okie thread and came to check it out. Although I am not really from Oklahoma my husband is and we recently moved here to be closer to his family. We are in between Tulsa and Stillwater area.
Breeding birds and trying to guess the outcomes and trying this and that to correct something is how I have learned what I know. Those books on genetics are just jibberish to me. I tried to apply that square thingy to guess outcomes once but I didn't guess a single outcome right doing that, too many recessive genes I guess. Somehow though I can look my birds over and just tell which ones are a good match.

Les, I have the perfect black NN pullet for you ... well in the sun she has a beautiful green sheen to her feathers. Anyway, she is gorgeous except I have her in a growout pen with no other NN's and somebody chewed off her tail feathers
Anyway, she is big and gorgeous and it's sort of weird that her face is dark colored too ... including her little comb. I think you'd love her for your breeding project. She came from eggs I bought from jimshappycowboy here on BYC earlier this year.

Here is a pic that kinda shows him and how big he is. He is bantam Asil.
I do have my e-mail in my avitar. Sounds like yours may be large fowl. I think the Asils are smaller then the Shamo are. Cuban is the expet on here with the ID of Orientals.

He has some beautiful birds. Meet me at Shawnee with her? Teva gets off about the time you go in so I doubt that we could connect before then.
