It seems that I am in dire need of both black and red NNs. My best girl, well I got her out tonight and on her head she has white tips on four of her feathers which is a DQ for a black bird. Now if I could get a good black rooster to breed her back to I could possibly knock that out but he would have to have that rich beetle green sheen and just 5 points on his comb. It has taken her four years to devolop this and who knows, it may be gone with the next molt.
My little white bantam has peppering on her wing feathers. Which as a breeder that is highly desirable as it creates a "stay white" bird. I can feed her a strictly corn diet and she will never get brassey like other white birds will.
So I am down to one NN to show this year and trying to find mates for breeder pens so I can build a string for next year.
