That is a cute chick pic KC.

All is going well here. I spent the holidays sick. Had a small stomach virus. Felt better today, so I went to work. Once again things changed there. My official job no longer exists, so I'm now training for something else. I spent most of the day on the computer taking tests and then moved on to the exciting task of filing. I am now an Administrative Assistant. The hours are better. I also help out with the end-of-day cleanup and stocking. I think I'm going to like it. It also means no weekends!! Hope everyone had a great turkey day.

When someone gets some extras turkey eggs, in the spring, let me know. We are seriously thinking about getting some. I really like those Bourbon Reds that were pictured earlier.

Thanksgiving around here was simplistic. We weren't sure if we were going to have a big dinner because of all the issues we've been dealing with, ie: work, doctors illnesses. We didn't purchase anything for the dinner. We only decided to cook when we were headed home from OKC on Wednesday. We got home and thawed the turkey out. Then we realized that it was way too big for the roaster or oven. I ended up having to cut my pretty home-grown turkey in half. I roasted one half for dinner and will roast the other to freeze for another time. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and rolls. For dessert we had cherry cheesecake. All of this was stuff we had on hand here at the house. I was proud that we could have a great holiday dinner without spending a lot of money.

Edited becausrI'm too tired to spell correctly.

Those are the best kind of meals - where you can find the stuff in the cupboard and don't have to spend an hour or more in a crowded grocery store. The food is fresh and simple and you aren't exhausted after cooking for days. I imagine that sawing the turkey in half was a chore, however.

so, did someone there help you load it on a trailer or were you on your own for getting it loaded? With a coat of paint, that is going to be great!

Well Noah came home this evening. The doctors down at children's gave anti-biotics in an IV till the fever went away and said to come back if it went back up. The funny breathing sounds were due to extra skin in the nasal passage but they didn't do anything about that.

Thanks to everyone here, I sure felt better knowing ya'll was beside us on this.

There was an ad on the bulletin board where Gerald works that some rabbit breeders may want to check into. Somebody looking for rabbit meat:

"DO YOU HAVE A RABBIT FARM, OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO DOES?
SEEKING RABBIT MEAT
PREFERABLY @ < $35 PER RABBIT.
PLEASE CALL 405-640-9633
WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SELECT THE RABBITS."

Gerald thought someone here on the BYC Okies thread might raise meat rabbits that would like to sell some. I sure wish someone wanted to pay that much for some of our chickens, lol

I guess we'll see some of ya'll at the Blanchard auction Saturday evening. We're going to go to Mary's Flea Market Saturday morning to see if we can sell a few chickens & turkeys & some house plants we have too many of. Maybe we can take them to the auction if we don't sell all at Mary's. I'll probably take some chicks and maybe some hatching eggs to the Blanchard auction.

Les - Glad Noah got to go home, that is a blessing.

Since they didn't do anything about the extra skin, it is probably something that he will grow out of.

Sure is quiet on the board, hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend. Chickies were enjoying the great weather today! Hubby said my orange EE was flying laps around the chicken pen today, first time any of them have flown. My babies, they're growing up so fast.
