Well, I had a good afternoon. Visited the Polyface apprentice's ranch west of the Wichita Wildlife Center with DW and some friends. He gave us an excellent tour. We arranged to buy half of an organic, grass finished, hormone free beef and half a lamb. Then the best part was he agreed to sell me some of his special Daniel Salatin breed of disease/parasite resistant rabbits for me to try my hand at raising fryers on grass.
P&B, he agreed with you. The breeding stock will be too territorial to raise colony style, so it is the lone exception he makes to raising an animal in an unnatural manner, preferring instead to keep them in raised cages. It may be something I will have to reluctantly submit to, as well.
