Did you just call me fat?

-Stimp-

I don't think so. Was the Big Bopper fat? I just liked some of his old songs.
Didn't he die in the plane crash with Buddy Holly and Richie Vallens?

Yes, he was fat and yes he died with Holly and Valens right after they left Clear Lake, IA. I didn't know he had any songs besides "Chantilly Lace" He was a DJ by trade.

Monty it is COLD up here it is 17 right now on my front porch!!!! My birds dont seem to mind it but I really do!!! The only one that it has really bothered was my big mutt rooster and apparently he decided to spend the night outside the other night and got a big chunk of his comb frostbit. We are going to have a house full of show birds tomorrow I have to work Sunday and DW has declared that she will not do all the birds alone!!!! How are things your way Monty???

Hey folks...I bought some chickens off a man the other night and I'm not sure what some of them are. He just told me they were hight dollar chickens...cause he had a lot of money invested in them. He didn't have a clue what they were. His wife had left him and they had belonged to her. I'm trying to post them now if I can get it done. If someone can help identify their breed I would thank you for it.

Hey Everyone Jason and I just had a huge flashback to our childhoods watching The Greatest American Hero on HULU tonight...LOL

I cant begin to tell you how much it made me miss having decent shows on tv anymore

Grace (& whoever else has been wondering...),

I finally found clear rules on how the ABA handles non recognized breeds and varieties!

Non recognized breeds may place no higher than BB.
Non recognized varieties may place no higher than BV.

I've been searching all over for clarification on this issue and finally found the answer on page 34 of the ABA Yearbook '09 under the "Official ABA Show Rules".

Just thought I would share the information.

I don't remember who they are from. Faerielady got them from Pennsylvania. My temps dipped a little last night but I have the bator wrapped in insulation so hopefully they wil be ok. Its hard to battle 17 degrees.

I was trying to have warm thoughts, but we didn't know it was gonna get this cold in such a short period of time. No worries

Ok, that's all. I finally learned to put these pics on here. I've wanted to put pics of my baby chicks on here and didn't know how. Yeah!

Thanks, Donna

I would love to answer this for you but because I am not as seasoned in the Chicken ID department I am only going to say I believe the one you labeled a Speckled hen is actually a Barred Rock... only because it looks very similar to the Barred Rocks we have... Again Im not an expert..lol

Good morning everyone I just got out of bed!!! Yeah I know its late but it is nice to sleep in once in while!!!! Whats everyone got on tap today? I aint gonna do anything except wash birds and watch football!!

I agree that the speckled hen looks like a barred rock. The one you are calling sizzle, it does have the frizzle gene that is for sure. But I am not sure if it is a sizzle or not. Does it have an extra toe and is its skin black. If you see the extra toe and black skin then as far as I know it would then be a sizzle. I had a few 1st generation sizzles until my attack. A few of them looked like yours, but they also had an extra toe on each foot, although their feet weren't always necessarily fully black, but probably mostly black. Two of them the feet were mostly black except the very tips of their toes. I guess I would say their feet looked kind of like oreos. Although I am by no means an expert those are the things that I have noticed.

Oh forgot to mention I have no idea on the rest of them, but those first two are just beautiful. That rooster is a looker.
