Tanya - the worst thing any of us would have done if you had introduced yourself, would have been try to help you find some birds to buy

I hope that if you make it to any other chicken shows or auctions and see one of the blue shirts, that you will introduce yourself. We can't "enable" you if we don't know who you are.

Heh. I left my debit card and checkbook locked in the truck's glove compartment. I wanted to make sure I couldn't write a check even if someone took them, and make sure I didn't stop by somewhere and pull money from an ATM. I brought zero dollars in cash into the show... if ya can't buy anything, makes it very very hard to bring anything home

I second that. Don't be shy. Of course I would have tried to get you to get Naked Necks but you were safe today as I wasn't able to attend.

Ok...I hear all the time what a good auction that Blanchard is. You all are always making Carah, Beth, Q, and me jealous when we see all the post of the stuff and fun you all have there. Well, Richard and I drove to Blanchard instead of going to a movie (he patronized me) and man was I disappointed. The only thing there were a bunch of HUGE roosters and some very horrible, ugly and dirty chickens....have no idea what they were. Not sure they were chickens...LOL...but there sure was a bunch of them....some kind of cross breed that was not identifiable.

So now, please tell me that tonight was an exception to the rule or we're going to think that you all just brag to make us jealous....well it works...LOL

Sure did enjoy myself today. Bought 4 birds...wanted a whole bunch more....but not anything I couldn't live without. So glad to see everyone again...we need to plan another get together of some sort in the spring. Anyway, I would love to go to another show sometime.

Gerald & I had to babysit tonight so my DD & son-in-law could go to a Christmas party. Gerald just rocked Ashlyn to sleep & put her in her bed. He wouldn't let me do it .... and I wanted to, too

Here we new grandparents are, fighting over who gets to hold her next

I didn't cause that big of a scene though ... didn't want to scare the baby with my very own temper tantrum.

Luckily, I brought the laptop computer to keep myself awake with & catch up on all the talk here. Gerald is now snoring on the couch.

I was terribly late to the show today, because my DH decided to go play with his army truck with other Steel Soldiers buddies. He got to play in the mud & have fun though. Anyway, I slept late & missed all the good stuff at the show & worst of all, missed seeing many Okies.

I did however, get to Abuelita Rosa's Mexican Cantina for lunch with many great Okies. It was a pleasure! Thanks Maribeth for the honey! It is awesome! That orange spun honey is out of this world delicious!!! Excellent on the sopapillas! The waiter was telling us how to get a swarm of bees into a bucket ... by beating on the bucket. He added more when we were leaving ... said to collect the bees naked, so they won't get under the clothes & sting. I assume he's done it before, but I'm not sure if the cops wouldn't arrest him for indecent exposure if they saw a naked man beating on a bucket though.

That's OK, I didn't bring the chick with me anyway since I saw your post that your car was broke down & you wouldn't get to go. We'll just have to meet one afternoon before Gerald & I go to work. You're somewhere near Tinker AFB, right?

Oh, I see that MAllen bought the trio of crele OEGB .... I wanted them! Actually, I think there was another trio for sale in the sale room when I went through, but I never got the courage to call the owner's phone number listed on the cage to ask how much he wanted for them. I really just need a handsome rooster for my 3 pullets that have just begun laying eggs. Also need a wheaten roo, since the crele & wheaten roos both died the night of the first frost we had.

Oh, and I wish I could have bought one of those lavendar silkies for $100 ... if only my sweetie had showed up .... I might have talked him into buying me one for Christmas

I told him about it and he said if he paid $100 for a silkie it would for sure be living in the bedroom, not outside

I had a great time at the Shawnee show ... just wish I had been there first thing this morning with everyone else. I hear the IHOP breakfast get-together was great too.

Yes. We actually went to a very nice place that is close to our house. Although it is pretty famous and only a mile away we have only been there a few times in the 18 years we have lived here. We had reservations so didn't have to wait. Also no traffic problems. Food was good. A good time was had by both.
Picked up Jared and came home and changed clothes.
I asked my wife " have I ever told you how good you look in flannel."
She is looking at Christmas stuff on her laptop and I am sitting nearby and reading BYC.

Donna, That is the exception. I haven't been to the auction too many times but every time I have gone, they have had a good variety.
It is really not the best time of the year for auctions. Really hit and miss. You might make the big deal of the day or get Zonked!

(Notice the Let's Make a Deal!" Monty Hall connection there?)

Did you talk to Paul about the Partridge Cochins?
