Gerald & I had to babysit tonight so my DD & son-in-law could go to a Christmas party. Gerald just rocked Ashlyn to sleep & put her in her bed. He wouldn't let me do it .... and I wanted to, too
Here we new grandparents are, fighting over who gets to hold her next
I didn't cause that big of a scene though ... didn't want to scare the baby with my very own temper tantrum.
Luckily, I brought the laptop computer to keep myself awake with & catch up on all the talk here. Gerald is now snoring on the couch.
I was terribly late to the show today, because my DH decided to go play with his army truck with other Steel Soldiers buddies. He got to play in the mud & have fun though. Anyway, I slept late & missed all the good stuff at the show & worst of all, missed seeing many Okies.
I did however, get to Abuelita Rosa's Mexican Cantina for lunch with many great Okies. It was a pleasure! Thanks Maribeth for the honey! It is awesome! That orange spun honey is
out of this world delicious!!! Excellent on the sopapillas! The waiter was telling us how to get a swarm of bees into a bucket ... by beating on the bucket. He added more when we were leaving ... said to collect the bees naked, so they won't get under the clothes & sting. I assume he's done it before, but I'm not sure if the cops wouldn't arrest him for indecent exposure if they saw a naked man beating on a bucket though.

That's OK, I didn't bring the chick with me anyway since I saw your post that your car was broke down & you wouldn't get to go. We'll just have to meet one afternoon before Gerald & I go to work. You're somewhere near Tinker AFB, right?
Oh, I see that MAllen bought the trio of crele OEGB .... I wanted them! Actually, I think there was another trio for sale in the sale room when I went through, but I never got the courage to call the owner's phone number listed on the cage to ask how much he wanted for them. I really just need a handsome rooster for my 3 pullets that have just begun laying eggs. Also need a wheaten roo, since the crele & wheaten roos both died the night of the first frost we had.
Oh, and I wish I could have bought one of those lavendar silkies for $100 ... if only my sweetie had showed up .... I might have talked him into buying me one for Christmas
I told him about it and he said if he paid $100 for a silkie it would for sure be living in the bedroom, not outside
I had a great time at the Shawnee show ... just wish I had been there first thing this morning with everyone else. I hear the IHOP breakfast get-together was great too.
