Yes. We actually went to a very nice place that is close to our house. Although it is pretty famous and only a mile away we have only been there a few times in the 18 years we have lived here. We had reservations so didn't have to wait. Also no traffic problems. Food was good. A good time was had by both.
Picked up Jared and came home and changed clothes.
I asked my wife " have I ever told you how good you look in flannel."
She is looking at Christmas stuff on her laptop and I am sitting nearby and reading BYC.

Monty....you're awful. She should have boxed your ears down. LOL

I'd like to see the final tally on our people that had birds in the show.
I know Quenston's kidos Lynnea and Tristan had some winners as did Dandelion's DD. I think Betsy won as well. I guess we will get the final tally when they get home tomorrow.

Drat - I missed the additional suggestion for avoiding bee stings while capturig a swarm. Obviously, he has never actually collected a swarm, because bees that are swarming are generally NOT agressive and certainly don't try to get beneath clothing. I wear a veil if the swarm is above my head, because I don't want to dump them down my collar, but once the main part of the swarm is in the box, I take off the veil and just wait for the majority of the bees to go into the box with the queen. I have tried banging a stick on an empty box to encourage the bees to stop flying and go into the box - not sure if it actually works but I have heard that theory before from old time beekeepers and figure it doesn't hurt anything. Besides, the homeowners seem to enjoy the sight of the bees going into the box while some idiot beekeeper is banging a stick on an empty box.

Carla would the rooster have to be OEGB? I have an extra Asil x Shamo That has wheaton on both sides. His dad was out of a rooster that was a cross from a spangle and a wheaton and his mom was a wheaton. He is kind of a bbred. His sisters are all wheatons, no other colors came through and they all have chocolate brown hackles and are beautiful birds.

Darn, he sounds like he would be too big a roo for those little bitty OEGB pullets. I bet he's a pretty bird though.

There sure were some nice looking Asil or Shamo birds in the sale room today. They were one of those breeds, just not sure what.
