Nope, sure wasn't. The kiddo accidentally dropped a glass of milk in the kitchen that she was trying to put back in the fridge. I wasn't gonna leave glass and milk all over my floor for it to spoil and set on the tile.

I went over and looked at her but they don't want my feedback as I would have everyone saying Huh? Or worse yet " what an idiot"

The front of her neck is free of follicle, no sign of feathering at all. And take your hand and cover all but the legs, look kinda stout to you? Like maybe Cornish or Oriental Game? Many of our Orientals have a bare streak running from the head down to the base of the keel bone.

I really think she is a sport, a throw back to the Oriental, Malay, used in the breeding of the RIR. Just certain traits came out

You answer sounds pretty good. The reason I brought it up is that I recognize some of the posters from other threads. I disagree with them on subjects that I know a little more about. I thought there was a pretty good chance that they got stuck on a wrong train of thought. There seems to be the ones who always "dito" the first response. Then there are the ones who disagree, no matter what the first response was. I was pretty sure "most" chickens don't have red down their necks, as was suggested. It just seems that with all the bickering, the OP never gets the help they were looking for. Thanks for looking!

I have often quelled nasty rumors that the red skin is sunburnt too. It is a breed trait of the NNs and I have a pic of the area under the bow-tie of one of my roosters that is red. Coupled with the fact that he had never seen a day outside till that point and it could not have been from sun exposure.

But in a regular bird exposure to the sun will cause red skin sometimes.

I usually stay here in the lower part of the forum. But at times I wander upstairs.

Good Morning Fellow Okies,

Just got back inside from taking care of the chickens and taking the kiddo to school. It is already colder than yesterday with a bite in the wind, noooooo. I want the warm weather, I got so much done outside yesterday and I have a hard time doing the same amount of work when it is cold.

Char has a Xmas school program this morning. So we were up pretty early getting her all ready, because she is the narrator for the program. So now I am wide awake and looks like I will be cleaning house. It should did get all messed up over the weekend. Oh and our deep freezer is failing so the DH had to go and buy a new one yesterday, so I will be transporting frozen food from the deep freezer in the barn back into the house where the new deep freezer is located. But hey I won't have to run out to the barn to figure out dinner anymore.

Well, I was up late last night trying to read everything I can about pigeons! I am still scrambling to make them their own space, but trying to figure out exactly how I am going to do that, ugggg!

sshhh They are testing! So I am playing!

Q - extra silkies? I need hens...bad! Someone got me to get roos that were just too cute...the youngest really likes them...I am worried about him. Back home we would say he was touched in the head...

Monty - speaking of roos...weren't you supposed to have a game roo? Cuz this gal had this hen and I got it and well now I have this hen that needs a roo and it is the kind of bird that needs a manly man roo...

City - oh city! Darling...I have a question for you wonderful, intelligent, beautiful, vibrant, caring, thoughtful, perfect, woman you!

Since I got so many birds and had so few...I figured quarentine was out of the question...cuz well...yeah...anyways...everything got all mixed up...Bubba's shamo hens started putting everyone in line...it was hilarious! We had to go put her up! She was whooping roo rear all over the yard! My one little OEGB banty was a little intimidated for the first time in his entire life! He didn't know what to do...but he did mind his manners!

Hey Al and Monty,
Sorry we didn't get to go over the computer questions you all had.

The only thing I like more than talking about than a chicken is talking about a computer.

I don't have all the answers but I usually can find them. I haven't seen a thread on BYC for tech questions (just to help BYCers get better) but I would be happy to reply to any questions you have either in this thread or by PM. I am sure that Grace is willing to help anyone also.

It was good to see everyone at Shawnee. Great to meet MAllen and quentston.

Good Morning BYCers
Well made it to work. Just have to keep remembering 5 more days, 5 more days. This is a rough time a year for my kids and we tend to have some more extreme behavioral problems so I am trying to keep it light. Last night I was a bad girl. Ideal hatchery had partridge and white cochin available so I bought 5 of each. Right now you only have to purchase $25 worth of birds and there is no minimum number of chicks. They maybe sending some extra roosters so if anyone is interested let me know. So two days before X-mas I will be getting some baby chicks. Happy Holidays to me!!!
I will post later today. Hope everyone has a great Monday.

Are you kidding me!!!! You were my partner in crime this weekend. Recovered my tail...due to your knowledge of fellow addicts I chased all over east of the city yesterday and ended up buying 8 more birds!!!! But I'm sure glad you shared. LOL AND NO, I DO NOT TRUST YOU....OR ANY OF THE REST OF US ON HERE FOR THAT MATTER!!!! Remember we are the enablers.

Al...it's just not right that you can eat what you ate at lunch Saturday and stay looking the way you do. Where's the justice it this picture? You're just like some friends I had in high school. They would eat everything but the table and look like a nail file....I'd eat half what they ate and look like the Goodyear blimp.

Well, today is mine and Richard's 25th anniversary. A lot of water under the bridge. We didn't know if we would make it this long because when we got married Richard had just come through chemo treatments from having cancer. My dad was so against me marrying him because he was afraid of what I'd go through. He had watched me suffer through a horrible divorce from the girls dad and he didn't want me to go through more heartache.

I struggled with the decision of whether to marry him...it didn't just involve me...I had two girls to think about. I had a friend at college that asked me...if you had 6 months with him would it be worth it? The answer was yes....and now it's 25 years later. And YES, it's been worth it. Besides...it's not every husband that would spend a 25th anniversary weekend at a chicken show for his wife. LOL

Sorry folks...didn't mean to jabber so much.

Have A Great day!

Donna

Not a problem sir! I think I made out better thought! I got those birds thinking about a young lady and thought she would love them...well she ain't getting the pair! I like that silly ol' rooster. In fact they are gonna get a breeding cage come spring! The other lady will be going to the young girl to add some more color to her flock! I am an enabler hear me roar!!!

Ideal...birds...now...not later...that is evil...but I am strong! AM NOT!!!!!

Hey guy's : Got some well needed rest last night, Charley so what was your DW's opinion of the show and all your crazy knucklehead friends LOL. You had better get started on building those pen's, no slacking.

AL
