Hey Quenston,
I would love to take your white ameraucana rooster and 2 hens off your hands. Send me a PM on what you are wanting for them and we can set up a time to meet. Yes?
I would totally love a white ameracauna rooster.

What color are the hens anyway? Not that I care, just curious.

Oh, I think I maybe looking for a new home as well. I ordered some baby chicks from Ideal and did not tell Uli. They will be here on the 23rd

. Maybe I will wait until I get them from the post office and sneak them into the brooder before he gets home. He will never know right?

Is this a sign of addiction??

Looks like we need to have a BYC BBQ and Barnraising at Al's place.

sounds like we may need to do an "intervention" or whatever you call it when you confront an addict to tell them they need to face their addiction and get help.

(and please don't remind me of this thought the next time I count how many adult and juvenile chicks and rabbits there are at MY house

I think Gerald in Cement has some bantams. I think that is where mine came from via the Cement auction. Mike D. bought one of my roosters Saturday. He may still have it.

When I bought them I thought they were just young standards. When they didn't get any bigger but started crowing I realized my mistake. I'm also not sure how "standard" Al's are. From their pictures those things look like brutes!

Yes, which is why I try to have all the baby chicks and ducks from different hatcheries scheduled to arrive on the same day - once the shock of more chicks has worn off, DH doesn't try to count them to see how many there are in the brooder and I can get them all in just one trip to the post office.

Some women go shopping and hide the bags of clothes/shoes in the back of their closet or the trunk of their car - until they can mostly truthfully say "no, this isn't new - I have had it for awhile" It is more of a challenge to "hide" animals/chickens, but not impossible

I'm not so sure. If they are what I think they are, our buddy Al just may be able retire from the remodeling business, and in style.

Chick size can also work in your favor when you're "camoflaging" the number of chicks you have. I've been known to add a few similar-sized chicks to a brooder and others have never noticed...okay - if they bother to take the time to count they might...but chicks are tricky, and it's easy for a significant other to think you have 14 when in fact a couple of days later they notice that you have 27! (Don't ask me how I know this.)

You mean he may be the rare person who is able to make enough $ from his chickens to do more than pay their feed bill?

Camoflage - that seems like a much more "honest" concept than hiding them. I like that! So now I need to figure out how to camoflage some runner ducks of a different color than I currently have, so that it seems like they have always been here
