Yeah, Gerald would tell me the temp would sometimes get 20 below & they'd have wind & snow like this. Oh, and he grew up without a bathroom in the house. Girls got to use a bucket, and boys had to go outside.

Gerald wants to get out with his ex-army truck, 6 wheel drive and go help stranded people. I think he'd better just stay inside. He doesn't even know if the heater works in it.

Maybe I can convince him to just go feed the chickens if he wants to get outside in this blizzard.

(*Bats eyelashes*)

Nothing like a serviceman comin' to the rescue....!!! *sigh* Chivalry is not dead.... it's just resting.

Hubby right now has taken my 4wheel drive truck to go help our elderly neighbor who is stranded by the drifts out in his pasture from feeding his cattle...

While DD is visiting with his wife...

PS: I know guys this weather sucks for those outside, but I admit when I prayed last night for it to DUMP... I didnt think the Good Lord would give me wind and snow drifts... ha ha

I'm needing chicken advice!!!

I made it out to my parents to check on the chickens. Snow got into their house, they're all snow crusted and wet. I'm worried about them, what should I do? I have a Silkie. Should I put them in their crates and bring them in for the night?

"well frankly my dear I dont give a da*n"

sure wish we could still consider da*n to be the worst cuss word we ever heard

Sure glad that DH has provided a place for all of our critters to get out of the storm - cold is one thing, freezing wet is something else entirely.

I would put them somewhere they can stay above freezing if they are wet. Course after saying that, DH just came in and told me he had to put some of my chickens inside the coop, because they were just sitting on the ground, covered in snow.

(*Insert Latin here*)

Well darlin' that's Latin...it would appear Johnny Ringo is an educated man...now I definately hate 'im

"Alright, boys, we don't want any trouble in here, not in any language."

...

"Well, if it isn't the drunk piano player. You're probably seeing double."

"I got two guns, one for each of ya."

Another great line from a different movie.

"I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 5 shots, or 6? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I kinda lost count myself. But beings this is a 44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you gotta ask yourself one question... 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"
