My family raises and trains Morgan horses. I am not sure if there are any for sale, but I can check. They will have been all healthy and used to children as they are around many barn kids who train with my aunt and mom.

I know it is really hard loosing a horse. I myself have had to walk many trying to keep them from rolling and twisting only to eventually be put down.

ohhh... morgans are on my top list of breeds, have always loved them since i was little and my cousin had one- sweetest tempered horse i've ever known!

so sorry for your daughter- always hard to lose an animal friend

I doubt seriously that the daughter could even come close to affording a Morgan. She'd be just as happy with one like what she had - minus the health problems. Ginger (the horse) was just a grade - probably quarter horse +. Daughter would probably love the Morgan, but good ones are pretty pricey, and she is actually pretty low income. If DH and I weren't buying the feed, she wouldn't be able to afford to keep the horses she does have. When she and her DH decided to get horses, they really didn't think things through before they jumped in. The purchase price is usually the least expensive part of owning a horse.

My own DH would love to have one of the older style Morgans, and so would I. They were actually my childhood dream horse - my favorite book was "Justin Morgan had a Horse." However, I am much to heavy for the modern Morgans. I need a stockier horse - a MUCH stockier horse!

DH is probably too heavy for one, too - but he wants one for driving more than for riding. I bought two horses this summer - they were actually more or less rescues, since their owner was just going to move away and leave them. The gelding is really nice and laid back (great with the little grandkids) but not very well trained. I want to start him on driving - I think he'd be great at it. We shall see!

I read earlier someone was looking for these cone heaters, here is the link. http://www.processheating.com/

Jeannie sorry about the whole Cement bird swap thing, Marybeth didn't know what else to do, and I was 10 min late. How's jason ??.

The Cement auction was fun in a crazy sort of way. Got to visit with Buster, Michael Daugherty, Al, and Fun Chick. My husband wasn't too bored since it lasted less than an hour and we stopped at Jake's Rib in Chickasha on the way home. If I go to Cement again when it is below freezing outside, I am going to wear my Carhart overalls under the Carhart jacket. It was COLD.

Teach - thank you for calling me. Your timing was incredible - another 10 minutes and I would probably have been out of cell phone range for my cell phone. I got you a couple of lionheads.

Jeannie - there are so many more extra chickens and roosters left

, I will get us both taken care of the next chance I have to get some to you. I will gather them up the night before next time, so that I can catch them without having to entice them into the flight cage with food and then chasing them with the net.

I got there a few minutes late, I had to run to town and help a friends wife while he is in the hospital. The only bright spot was seeing some BYCer's there, Marybeth, Jim & Erlene, Michael, Fun chick, Gerald Blakely/gb1 was there but he left before I could say Hey. There wasn't much there as this is the dead of winter and really slow at auctions this time of year. It was over in an hour.

Yeah I would have hated to see anybody drive a long way for that, Springtime is when they really heat up, standing room only and lasting all night going through hundreds of birds and equipment. Now that is fun.
