thanks guys.. the white leghorn crossed with the rhode island red hens makes a beautiful bird that lays fantastic that we have always called a cinnamon queen.. so we will try the buff project now.. everybody enjoy this pretty weekend....donna

Hi everyone, I'm so glad it's a beautiful day outside! I guess I'd better get outside & start cleaning up the coops & brooders, etc.

I just listed on Craigslist my 2 peacocks and some tom turkeys that I hatched or purchased as babies last year. I've decided not to raise peacocks, at least not this year, and I really need their pen to separate the turkey breeds that we have. With the way the turkeys are acting, I think breeding season is coming up really quickly and I've got to get them separated by breed. We have Royal Palm, Blue Slate, Bourbon Red and Narragansett and hopefully we'll have hatching eggs and poults for sale this spring!!!

Well, I'd better get outside now!

I just got my power back on after it went off wedsnday. Im sooooooooo happy. And I got an incubator delived 2 days ago with a few inches of ice to go along with it. Now i gotta get it fired up and if it holds temps, i need some eggs! Anyone got any bbs bantam orp eggs laying around for sale

I may just have to do a test hatch with some mutt eggs from my neighbors.

IT HAS BEEN A LONG DAY FOR ME... SINCE WE HAD SUCH NICE WEATHER THAT MEANS WORK TO DO OUTSIDE WHICH I ENJOYED UNTIL.... THE DOGS WENT TO THE CREEK AND GOT MUDDY!!! FUN FUN THEY STAY IN THE HOUSE SO I HAD TO GIVE THEM A BATH.... BUT I DID GET MY 48 EGGS IN THE BATOR TODAY SO I'M READY TO SEE HOW IT GOES... HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL DAY! I am so sore! I got a friend to come over and we have been building pens all day. I am really excited that we made two little chicken tractors for the garden that I can easily move myself. No more shoveling!

In 6 weeks, I will have purebred RIR and Cochin eggs. My poor layer pen lost all roos however. Hopefully, my girls will be happy rather than disgruntled with this arrangement.

I'm so happy with the weather!
