Oklahoma City is spitting a little bit of snow. We had mist earlier this evening that has now frozen, so I imagine the roads will be slick in the morning. The wind however is howling - although the weather station says it is only blowing 14 mph. Temperature was 34 when I got home at 7pm and now it is 21 degrees. But I was warm in my overalls when I was feeding for about 2 hours!
I tried to get some birds that were roosting in the bushes to go into one of the coops, because their feathers have a sheen of ice on them. I have a white EE hen that is going to have a cold rear end, because all of her bottom feathers came off in my hand when I tried to grab her off her perch and she rolled out of my grasp.
Edited to add: OG&E's system map shows that they have more than 30,000 customers in the OKC metro area without power. The wind was blowing about 27 mph earlier this evening, so I suspect that is part of the cause.
