in my opinion, guinea eggs taste like chicken eggs. They just have a much harder shell so you need to be prepared to hit them harder to break them. I have also used them in cakes - just break guinea eggs into the measuring cup until you have a scant 3/4 cup of egg to equal 3 large chicken eggs.

Glad to see you Okiechick!

Thanks Poultry......no difference in taste? I will use them then.....just didnt want the same kind of surprise I got with my duck egg

Good to see you too

It's like what I've always said about Kotex and Laundry soap...Ya can't live without it, so they know that you will pay it...think about it... you have already paid your tuition usually... what are ya gonna do...it's legalized theft. Otherwise known as supply and demand....

Yeah I agree. I have come this far. I might as well finish and they know that.

So .......is anyone doing anything "extra" as far as heat in their coops this week? mine are fairly well with one heat lamp ....so far..dragging water from house to coop is a bit of a drag though.......not to mention frozen eggs......my little dog found one and broke it open and spent an hour licking it out

Due to the significant increase in the level of verbosity and advanced linguistics reflected in tomes of upper higher education, the educational volumes required for these pursuits are priced according to the number of syllables contained therein.

I like that Clucks!

Hey all! Long time no post...just checking in to see how you all have managed to keep your birds OK in this cold. Ours are doing rather well...we managed to get it all set up and they love getting the cabbage we are giving them as treats to keep them busy since they are cooped up.

I have lights on my Bantam and FOO FOO breeds, but my larger breeds seem to be doing fine. The whole watering thing is getting really old though!!

Nope, we just throw the whole head in and the feeding frenzy begins! We also give them apples...seems to be a good healthy activity and it gives them additional fluids...important in this extra dry air we have right now. Dehydration is a threat...

We strung a mini heater fan in the coop--it's hanging from the rafters and we have it plugged in to a thermo-cube...an ingenious invention--do you have one?
