BigOkie37,

Was that all from this morning? I should have been brave and driven through the pasture this morning to avoid the car-eating ruts in my long driveway. I'll just have to be patient and go next Saturday. Do you have a number for the guy you mentioned who has the Marans hatching eggs? Do you know how much he wants for a dozen? Does he ever swap eggs for hens?

i got 4 dz hatching eggs from him this morning.his are crosses.he has a maran roo over maran ,barred rock.an rir hens.all the dark eggs are from maran hens so they would be pure ut the others will be only half maran.i is always willing to do trading.sorry dont have his number but he is there every weekend.it was rainy there but there was quite a few chickens there this morning.

Just got back from Charlottes basketball game and now I am packing to hit the road for the auction in Blanchard. However, I was just realizing I need directions. Is Blanchard a large town and how do I get there from Norman. I think I am to pick up my sister from Norman and then we will be on our way to Blanchard. If I remember correctly the auction starts at 5pm.

Yeah I was just sitting here looking trying to find a post on directions I ws sure somebody had probably given, LOL. Was about to head out the door to the city when I realized. I have a 2 1/2 hour drive or so to outside of Norman. Then on to Blanchard from there. Oh by the way, Char's team smoked the other team in Basketball, yay!

This is what she had posted:

BarnSwallow - from HYW 62, turn South on County Line Road, which is West of Blanchard. There is a rodeo arena on the corner where you turn. You will be driving through what appears to be a residential area for a mile or two, take the road to the left where it splits into a "V" and then the auction barn is on the left. It is a plum colored sheet metal barn that is set off the road and you will see cars, pickups, trailers etc. parked in front. The address is 2500 S. County Line Rd., Blanchard.

The poultry auction starts at 5:00 but there is a goat/calf/pig auction that is supposed to begin at 3:00, if I recall correctly.

That's wonderful news. I will be there next Saturday morning to look him up. I'd like to get at least a dozen of the pure marans and maybe a dozen of the crosses. If I get there at 7:30, is that early enough?

They do not have to have a "compete" bath before "every" show. My show birds are usually bathed once a show season. But no matter how clean a bird looks, touch-ups are always necessary!
Five of the birds I am entering have a lot of foot feathers (Cochins and Silkies), so these definitely need at least their feet and legs bathed.
And, I may have a couple others that I can do just with wipes.
