He's indoor only. Ragdolls have had all their protective instincts bred out of them and they will not survive outside (didn't think it was true until I found out with Rhodes that it is *absolutely* true that the purebreds won't even protect themselves against a dog).

I thought I'd posted on Wednesday that I (unfortunately) had to drive to Okmulgee on Saturday and pick up meat chickens (processed them on Sunday with P&B and my Dad). I made J promise to take me to the show on the 13th of Feb. I even got a small dog crate from my dad so that I may buy something depending on my money situation/budget.

They aren't too pale, but not as pink as I'd like. I'll have them run blood test and fecal swab tomorrow... will tell me if he's anemic or has worms.

Frontline and others only work if the fleas bite the cat, it doesn't have a residual killing power like the old pesticides did. Plus I would imagine that the dogs are bringing them in from outside too.

He sure has a beautiful face, reminds me of some of the "cats" in the musical.

Yes, I have eggs in the incubator. So I pulled out the generator today, just in case the power goes out during the ice storm.

Thanks... he's a beautiful boy.

He is also why I know, with not even a shadow of a doubt, that the cold weather is going to nail us, if not this week then sometime soon. It isn't right when the INDOOR cat grow *this much fur* as his winter coat. Bear in mind that he is not overweight.

Added later for size reference... I am 5'1" tall. Rhodes is a very big cat, length/height.

It's Monty's fault. He and I know a lady who works at the zoo. She called him about some heritage breeds for the zoo and he suggested she call me, since I have a NPIP flock and the zoo veterinarian was concerned about prior tests on the birds. Actually, several BYC members are indirectly contributing to the zoo's display, since I am also taking a Polish hen that I got from Poco Pollo at the fall POOPS and two Malay hens that I got from Les and Teva at the Spring POOPS. With the weather coming in, we moved the delivery date to tomorrow, so now I have to go find another Malay hen that wasn't sleeping in the flight pen. She is probably on a nest somewhere.

know where i can find any malay hens and rooster?, got pics of yours?

My malays are bantams. I am keeping a hen and a rooster so hope to be hatching some this Spring. They came from NN breeder.

I found the second Malay hen, sitting in a nest box in the other half of the coop from where I found the first one. Both were sitting on chalk eggs.

The third Malay hen has taken up company with some rogue EE hens that won't roost close to the other birds.

Any chance he has a blockage caused by fur? Diarrhea could be coming out around an impaction. He sure is pretty and you are probably right about the length of his fur predicting a harsh winter. I wonder if laying on top of the brooder puts some warmth to his stomach, which makes it feel better?
