Glad your dogs came back, Carla. They sure do like to wander. I'm finding electric is the only way I can keep them in. It isn't too hard to set up. I figure if I can do it, anybody can.

Yeah Jerry it should be interesting, the only problem is they want all the work done during their off hours which means starting late and working through the night, i am not a big fan of that, but h3ll I'll do it if need be, ya know what I mean.

What really bothers me is that I put his flea medication on him 2 1/2 weeks ago, but when I shaved his belly tonight (he's got hair about 3 inches long or more depending on what time of year it is) he has fleas again. I have to shave a spot between his shoulderblades to put it on otherwise all the hair blocks it, but I'm afraid he may be getting anemic.

Sorry to hear about your cat have you tried supplementing him with Brewers Yeast? From what I have been learning on how to care Holistically is that most animals wont be bothered to terribly by fleas and ect if they are healthy. Not sure what kind of cat food he is being fed but most often its the cat and dog food we give them... that make their immune systems and body functions not work properly... Try supplementing him with Brewers Yeast it will help keep down allergic reactions for the most part and also depending on your drops or flea collars most are harmful than helpful...

I fill the crockpot about 1/3 full of water, add powdered chicken broth and the taco seasoning and all the rest of the ingredients. Proportions are not particularly important, but you want a lot of stuff so it is more like a thick stew than a thin soup. The tortilla chips help thicken it.

Cook for a few hours on low to blend the flavors. Serve in a bowl with crushed tortilla chips in the bottom and topped with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese.
