There weren't that many salers there, 6 or so. There were about as many car's for the buyers. It may have gotten busier after we left, we weren't there long. It was 33 degree's and cold! I was hoping Chuck would come on to let us know if that were the case. Oh I got hatching eggs.

My guess would be that PJ is the hen at the bottom of the pecking order. You will have to take her an another one out so she can heal. Once she heals you can try to put her back in. If she continues to be pecked to the point of bleeding I would take the head hen out for a while so maybe she would be working too hard to regain her spot in the pecking order to peck the cochin. OUtside of that PJ will have to have her own place.

Donna when I save eggs for hatching guess where they go? That's right, in the fridge. As long as they don't freeze they will do fine and it will even out your hatches too. What it does is to put the embryo in suspended animation while you get enough to set.

Never mind stupid question.

thanks- for now she is in the house in the spare room, sigh. i put some first aid cream on her comb, will give her time to heal. then figure out what to do- so in flock dynamics, if the head hen shows aggression to one flock member, everyone else follows along?

Morning Artsy,
Still not awake.

Hubby is going to fix a ruptured water pipe and then we are off to the PBR in OKC. What about you?

I don't see much of that in the flock. They have alot of room so they can stay away from the others. I don't know what your set up is but if there isn't room for her to get away from the others then she will always be in someones space.

Yes, the Newcastle Show is on the 27th of this month. Game bird lovers of OEGB, MGB, Cornish Bantam and AGB should make it a point to compete or attend.

Morning all : I wanted to say what a great time I had last night, we had a nice sized group of BYC okies there as usual and that is always a good thing, we may have started a trend as a Oklahoma Saturday night can't get much better. My DW Laura said she had great time and that made me smile, she said Y'all are so very nice and would like to start going with me more. Carla & Gerald were up to there usual antics trying to get her to buy a goat, a miniture fainting goat at that, now if it could just tell jokes I might buy one LOL. I want to thank you all for showing her a good time it meant alot to me. I did manage to win the bids on a few things I needed, got some nice 7 gal waterers and a new camp stove I need, I bid on some other things but prices seemed to be through the roof only on the stuff I wanted LOL.

Jared was in prime form last night what a great kid, he managed to hook up with another boy who follows Michael around and they were doing the cage carrying for the ring guy's, and his chicken magic act seemed to be a crowd pleaser LOL. For those in our group who decided not to come for $$$ reasons, you don't always have to bid & buy many times I go home empty handed but but I feel richer because I can learn many new things every time I go and get to see and visit with my friends.

Morning to all of you late risers.

We had just a spitting of snow earlier, now, it is in full force, blowing sideways.

Sorry we missed going to Blanchard last night. Hubby and I finished my new brooder that
will handle 150 chicks. With the marvelous hatch I'm having right now, it is going to be needed.

Almost every egg that I got from Jo Greer has hatched or is peeping.

Right now I have Americaunas, Production Red and RIR, one little Partridge Cochin and 3 black Australorps.
