I don't see anything on the calendar about the OKC zoo yet. Maybe it will be posted but so far we don't know anything about it.

4 H Zoo Snooze March ,2010
Come spend the night at the OKC Zoo and learn from the Zoo personnel about many of the similarities and differences that your pet have in common with wild animals. Then venture outdoors for a night hike through the zoo. The hike will be followed up by 4 h activities.
in the morning we will slip out for an early tour while the animals are having breakfast. The rest of the day is yours to spend at the zoo. make plans today,it's sure to be a "Wild" time.
Registration is due in the OSU Extension office by March 4th.

This sounds fun. Do you have to be a member of 4 H to go?

Good evening my new okie friends. I have a few questions

I want you guys to put your thinking caps on ok?
First ?? I have a french black copper maran hen that has developed a small lump on her breast and she has started acting funny she comes running at you like she is going to flog you (which isnt like her) and this is her first year of laying. (i havnt gotten any eggs from her in 3days or so. what could this be?
2nd??? My goose made a nest and layed 1 egg and i took it and she hasnt layed anymore. should i have waited till she layed a few? do they not lay any more if you take their eggs?
3rd?? I have new baby goats (moms first time) and one had ywins and she will not let the girl eat she keeps head buttin her away so we have had to put her on the milk stand 3 times a day and force her to let her eat why is she doing that? ( I know that wasnt a chicken ? but i had to throw it in there.

Andalusians. And I'm glad y'all liked them!

I knew it was something like that!

One of these days I will learn how to spell that!!

ETA: We had a tragedy with the male though, his comb got frost bit. So he will just have to be a daddy for future show babies.

I saved it to my spell check!

That is too bad

Before one of our first cold spells, I put vaseline on my rooster's comb, but I think by this last snowstorm the vaseline had worn off, because he got a bit of frostbite on the tips of his comb

thanks al, the weird thing is, even though she got beat up on, she clearly wants to be with the flock....

Yeah their funny that way..............I have found that by giving them more room and space they can get along better because they get to keep their distance.

the run is 16 x 20, with ten chickens, then i let them out usually in the afternoons- i noticed pj stays in the coop out of view until i let everyone out
